Japan quake: 'Explosion heard' at nuclear power plant

Japanese TV showed a huge cloud of smoke rising from one of the Fukushima plant buildings

Quake prompts nuclear alert

Looks like it's going to partial meltdown at both Fukushima-Daiichi (where the explosion happened) and Fukushima-Daini

they've just extended the total exclusion zone to 10KM at Fukushima-Daini, so it's now the same for both Fukushima stations.

And a big radiation release looking likely. Shocking.

Plus they're warning of further Tsunami up to 3 meters.

Japans ****ed. Shocking stuff.

Apparently Japan's governments officially asked the British government for help with rescue operations and no doubt other government.

Wonder when those US aircraft carriers will arrive?

Even throwing resources at this might not be enough. This nuclear incident certainly has massive complications. Not just short term. But maybe 50 years plus.

Its now confirmed - the Japanese governments told its citizens to stay indoors seal windows and not to drink tap water.

Its quite clear now that the reactor containment vessels breached at reactor 1 Fukushima-Daiichi (Fukushima-1)

This is worst possible case scenario now.

Its quite clear that this is now a disaster of biblical proportions now.

Earth quake , Tsunami and now Nuclear Meltdown and radiation release.

Shocking.

I hope everyone's made a donation to the Red Cross lads.

...all of which gives us the excuse to play....

This makes our earthquake seem pitiful in comparison with the catacylismic events happening in Japan. Terrible stuff.

I'm glad we dont have any of those facilities near us...hold on...Wylfa, Calder Hall, Sellafield...

Its a 30 year old reactor design. Only one Sizewell B is similar to this design in the UK

Still there's very serious questions that need to be answered.
