Hence why I want Frank to think outside of the box for his CB conundrum...

I don't want relegation but jesus these "experienced" players are absolute pants.

Experienced in failure.

The choice unfortunately has to be Keane and Holgate. Why potentially destroy a kids career playing him at the wrong time. This is not the right Environment to bring him into.

Absolute madness this...we cant play Keane and Holgate together...its a dreadful pairing.

I would start branthwaite, I've seem enough from him in the brief minutes he's had and I've had enough of the two Berk brothers at CB to last me a lifetime, sadly we've still gotta pick one of them due to Mina being made of Weetabix.

I'm not even sure which one I'd pick either, they are both equally hopeless.

100%

Possibly or possibly he could show he has more of a will to defend and more nuts than Holgate who is very arrogant
Mykolenko has to play if fit. We don’t have any other left backs. He has struggled so far, understandably so. The last thing he needs next to him is a young inexperienced kid.

Branthwaite has potential but it is nothing more than that. He couldn’t hold a place down at a championship club last season.

We are stuck with Holgate and Keane for the next month. Both are playing poorly but have shown that they are capable defenders in the past — Keane under Ancelotti at the start and Holgate for half a season under Silva (I think). It’s up to Frank and his staff to get them playing like that again

The right back has to be Coleman and Kenny rotating. People suggesting Patterson on the back of a brief u23 cameo. 3 managers at Everton have seen his so far and given him no playing time. I think he’ll be good but again doesn’t seem ready

Holgate had his good run during the Silva/Ferguson/Ancolloti turnover, he was at West Brom season before when Silva in charge

So the two center-backs that have overseen one win in fifteen you want playing for the next month...

When it's put in those words then surely you are thinking F NO!

Wasn't that due to getting an injury in the championship? Before that he started games didn't he?

So you are happy with with the left hand side of defence being Mykolenko and Branthwaite

I’d rather Mykolenko and Keane
Then you go and enjoy the Championship...

If we play Holgate and Keane for the next month of games, we will (maybe) win one in five, and with the run-in, we have that would be disastrous.

You want to play the chap who can't play when there are supporters in the stands which means in all the away games, we will not win one, and you are praying that the mentally weak slug will turn it on for the home games...you have more faith in him than me...

In my opinion, if he plays the bulk of the remainder of our games, we will be relegated.

The man is a massive liability but opinions are just that, opinions.

If he does start through to the end of the season, I hope to god I'm wrong...

I’m scared stiff of Keane and Holgate playing together. It fills me with no confidence

I’m slightly less scared of that than having Branthwaite and Mykolenko playing together though ?

It’s the lesser of 2 evils in my opinion. Neither is great. Hopefully Lampard can tap into what Ancelotti did for 6 months with Keane ?. Hopefully it wasn’t just the lack of crowds

I thought Branthwaite looked very tentative against Newcastle, quite nervy. I hope Lampard is drilling the entire team on set pieces, man to man marking, 10 men back For every corner. if we win it hoof it up the pitch and out for a throw in. Every time we clear it we seem to clear it to an oppostion player, so it comes straight back at us. Better to concede loads of throw ins so the beauts can reorganise while they are taking the throw in.

We cannot lose to Leeds, my ticker wont take it. Even a draw will do, if only because it stops the defeats! when we signed Gbamin, wasnt his agent saying he was better as a centre half? If so, and if (ha ha) he’s fit, i would lash him in to try and bolster our defence up. Failing that get an emergency registration for Cole and lampard and play them both. Depressingly, they would improve us :(

I think he looks like a really good prospect, but if i'm honest nothing that i've seen in his performances so far makes me think he should be playing more regularly just yet. He's even had a few iffy games at under 23s recently I believe. There's definitely a lot of potential there but he still seems a bit gangly and a bit nervy. I thought he might play more of a part this season, but when he has played he's looked like what he is really, a very young lad making his way in the game.

Yeah i think at times we forget we signed a 17yr old who's now only 19. Centre back is a position that comes with age. I cant reel off that many his age that were holding down a regular place at this level.
