With all our current centre backs fit (fat chance!) Our most dependable pairing is still Mina/Keane right now, with Godfrey showing tonnes of promise, but struggled after Covid at the start of the season. That's sad, but it's the truth, and all, the folks saying bin Keane and play Branthwaite are pie in the sky wishful thinkers. He might come good, but last night suggests that right now he's nowhere near ready.

So you want to continue starting the guy who has started the last fifteen games with one win?

And that is dependable?

Dependable you say?

He looked against Chelsea as well. Still, I sadly think yesterday was not a good showing for him although it was a cauldron and those behind him wilted too.

At home with the Goodison crowd behind him, I think Saturday will be a different kettle of fish.

I think at this point its about playing people who havent been getting demolished every game.

Looked good in a back 4 and im confident that the boy will be a very good player

Feel that he needs to get one start at Goosison (like you said) and then be told that hes going to be getting a run of games.

Build his confidence.

I'd stick with him. Very talented player. He might struggle here and there but better off persevering with him than proven sheethouses like Holgate.
100% and Keane as well as Holgate

Keane??

So you want to continue starting the guy who has started the last fifteen games with one win?

Lampard needs to take a look at the players and see who he actually trusts to deliver results...then he needs to drop the ones he doeent trust and play either the young lads or those who can fit into a 433 system.

With injuries we may need to start the oaf but we should be integrating Branthwaite now...see if it ruffles any feathers.

A tremendous interception not long after coming on.

Took a whack that Mina would have cried back to Colombia for a month.

This lad has tremendous potential I just hope we don't Everton him.

For a big lad Mina really cant take the premier league...like you say, the punch Branthwaite took and played on with must have been a fair crack.

Looked disorientated afterwards.

Good to see him get minutes, i half thought Lampard would take him off for the additional sub (i think the new rule came in this season) for a head injury and replace him with DCL.

Mina and Branthwaite if Mina is fit, otherwise Branthwaite and Astley...outside the box...

And before you say we can't take the chance, because they are both young and inexperienced, we have won one in fifteen with our experienced rubbish.
We don't have to take a chance. It's Lampard gambling wih his career. For that reason, he'll select the players who he thinks give him the best chance of 3 points, not just chuck some youth in because he's sick of seeing the tosh we have on the pitch all season.
I guarantee you that neither of the combinations you are talking are Lampard's first choice.
