Jarrad Branthwaite

I think he will fit in, quite well, to the vacant slot Mina will leave at the end of the season and will prove to be a big improvement on the rarely seen Colombian.
For me, we should be binning off Keane, holgate and mina. However, nobody will buy them or at least pay what we want for them. Therefore branthwaite is our only sellable asset. Could be the deciding factor if we want to rebuild.

Mina is gone in the summer as his contract is up isn’t it? I would imagine Keane will want to go as well but can see us keeping Holgate. Which would leave us with Tarks, Coady (who I imagine we take up the option on), Godfrey, Holgate and Branthwaite. Good mix of ages and experience.

Mina is out of contract at the end of this season, you are right about Keane in my opinion but Holgate can be a very useful squad player and will be needed during the rest of this season and in the future because of his versatility, again in my opinion.

Every time I've seen this boy he's just seemed to have something about him. I think he has every chance of making it here. I think a contract extension should be negotiated and he should not be sent out on loan next season. While Tarkowski is still a very good defender, it would be the ideal time to integrate Branthwaite. Tarkowski can help him to develop by giving him on field instructions and helping him through the learning process.

Compose strong and technically good. What he lacks is experience to deal with world class forward in this league. He needs time, something our fan base will never allow.

….not sure of the constant bashing of fans, I don’t think they are different to others in respect of getting frustrated when a youngster makes a mistake.

I’m sure the vast majority really rate Branthwaite & think he can be a top player for us.

As mentioned earlier, with his contract ending in 2025 it’s now we offer a double his money contract extension or we sell in the summer.

Hold on, that would require some competence at board level..

I’d give him another contract and send him on loan to serie A. Learn to defend by proper old school methods.

Then he’d breeze into the team & allows us to not have out pants pulled down on getting rid of the periphery

We need to use him next season big time.

But if not then either another loan ot them or sell him with a buy-back pre-agreed price.

There’s also a one year option to extend to 2026 so there’s no real rush to extend or sell this summer. Obviously a big part of any decision will be whether or not we stay up.
