Forest have a put a price of £70m on Murillo (!)
Someone better tell Sir Jim Cheapskate over at the leaky theatre of dreams.
They’ve appointed Van Nistelrooy as assistant manager. Why are the United bells all over twitter/x saying that they are close to signing Branthwaite?
Gonna love the fume when they realise they aren't getting him.
Well to get him this summer I'd say they need to pay more than the original £70m/£80m that was being touted a few weeks back. If not then they ain't getting him. They’ve appointed Van Nistelrooy as assistant manager.
Van Nistelrooy worked with Branthwaite at PSV.
The United bells are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5.
Even though it’s not the done thing I’d love us to issue a statement that we won’t entertain any offers for Branthwaite below £100m.
Could there also be a case to make for deciding to ignore PSR, build a stronger squad and just take a points deduction having been able to survive pretty comfortable last season despite getting hit for 8 points. Different senario regarding points deductions this season as more teams are calling the rules unfair now that its not just us looking like getting docked points. We can only assume ( and cross our fingers) that the sales of Dobbin and Godfrey put us out of PSR jeopardy. If not then expect a hasty sale of DCL at a cut price this weekend.
The Friedkins have injected working capital so that gets us through the summer or at least until Onana is sold although I rather expect that his fee will be our additional transfer kitty.
All of that hopefully means that we are under no pressure to sell Branthwaite at an undervaluation and we get to see him at the centre of our defence and hopefully leading us into BMD.
That said if someone offers £70 million this summer I think he will be gone.
At last we seem to have a plan and not making it up as we go along.
Very , very risky to wilfully ignore especially as we have already been done. Think they might throw the book at us and an appeal would be difficult.Could there also be a case to make for deciding to ignore PSR, build a stronger squad and just take a points deduction having been able to survive pretty comfortable last season despite getting hit for 8 points. We`ll find out the consequences for ignoring the rules I suppose soon when City have their case heard. I suppose you have to weight up the risk of a certain amount of a deduction v having to weaken your squad, and being forced to sell players at a discount to comply with the rules ( if only we had a couple of hotels to sell)Very , very risky to wilfully ignore especially as we have already been done. No , if I was CEO I'd be doing everything to be compliant.
Newcastle haven’t tapped up DCL though? If the Friedkins are serious and want to build a club the you do not sell your star players at cut price deals.
Hand over £20-30m or whatever it takes to get us out of PSR - say to sponsor our team sponge and bucket - and we can tell Radcliffe and the horse punchers to do one. We're keeping Branthwaite and DCL. In fact sue them for tapping up.
Would be wicked to just stop being a club that can’t handle their finances.
Agree on Branthwaite but DCL wants to leave. If the Friedkins are serious and want to build a club the you do not sell your star players at cut price deals.
