I would imagine the story is probably coming from his agent. There have always been stories abut him being in demand, even going back to when he was about 17 and virtually unknown, it seems like his agent likes to put them out there. The timing would work for that too, he's not made the England squad and his stock is down a bit in the wider world so put out a story about how he's still very much in demand and really highly rated.
