2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

Tielemans, Barnes, Maddison, Vardy, Ndidi, Dewsbury Hall, Castagne

Whatever way you spin it they had far better players than we had that season and were ahead of us in the table when Dyche came in.
19 points from 18 games isn't exactly 'saving' our season.
Favorable home games vrs Leeds, Brentford & Bournemouth, plus Fulham (which we lost) pretty much saved us there.

Individually I agree, they had better players, I just remember that Leicester team being hyped up on here during the relegation battle where loads were saying we wouldn't get another win again for the rest of the season and Leicester (and maybe even Leeds) were going to end with CL form.

As a team Leicester were terrible that season.

I think Dyche did a great job to keep us up that season by the way so my comment was only regarding Leicester.

He got more points over 18 games than two teams with superior players to us. Can try and demean it anyway you want, he did the job we brought him in to do when lots on here were desperate for anyone to keep us up

I can ask my 8 year old to make dinner for me too. It could be cold, mushy and not look like food, but you could also claim she did the job i asked her to do. Should it not be about a certain standard?

Leicester got 16 points from when Dyche took over that season (only 3 more points than Dyche), Leeds got 13 points.

16 & 13 points from half a season is absolutely terrible, and if either of them put up a fight, we would of gone. That Brighton away game saved our balls.

Bournemouth, for reference, got 22 points in that time. shook Gary O'Neils hand and went and got a better more expansive coach to manage them the following season.

Iverson, Castagne, Wout Faes, Jonny Evans, Thomas, Soumare, Ihaenacho & Mendy all played in that final game for Leicester. Hardy superior is it?

Leeds had Robles, Ayling, Rasmus Kristensen, Liam Cooper, Wober, Struijk, McKennie, Forshaw, Koch, Harrison, Firpo & Rodrigo

This is quietly turning into a similar situation we’ve seen in the past with the likes of DCL and James Rodriguez, no word of a major injury but every week the manager just declares they’re not ready yet with no further detail.

What’s actually happening here? If he was back for pre-season after his surgery what’s happened in pre-season for him to disappear again? Mr Dyche?

How many points did that better more expansive coach get the next season for Bournemouth by the way? How many did the worst manager in football get for Everton?

It’s as though you just don’t understand context. The vast majority of people on here when we sat in the bottom 3 after 20 games in our second successive relegation battle would have traded anything for premier league safety. We were a complete mess that had just been beaten heavily by the same Bournemouth team you mentioned twice on the spin.

It wasn’t safety with caveats ‘well it will only be a good achievement if the bottom three are decent, or if he gets more than x points’, it was safety at any cost. He did that, and considering the financial future of the club was on the line, at that point it wasn’t about a certain standard, it was a binary outcome, we either stayed up or we didn’t.

I can guarantee you now if we’d have been relegated on 40 points because Leeds and Leicester went on a tear and finished ahead of us that season then you wouldn’t have given a toss at all about the standard, or whether we’d almost stayed up, or the football we’d played in that period, you’d have been laying into Dyche for destroying club and not keeping us up.

I don't know but it's something not very good, just had a quick look at the PL injuries site and its now saying the end of Sept, that's gone up from mid Sept which it said the other week (same for Patterson and Chermiti)

Maybe we did cash in on him and they`re waiting for some other news to distract us when the twitter post goes up thanking him for his time here?
