No...he just said he'd give him and extra week to get himself right.Didn’t Dyche say something like he was fit but at the moment because of an ongoing issue he isn’t able to join in every training session so is being ‘managed’ in terms of game time. Or something along those lines.
Perhaps I was thinking of him before the Palace game.No...he just said he'd give him and extra week to get himself right.
It's going to be interesting over the next few weeks how Dyche's approaches this one with Branthwaite.Perhaps I was thinking of him before the Palace game.
Still no discussion. Having a decent game against Ipswich shouldn’t be the basis for keeping out a future England international and one of the best young prospects in the country. How about now?
Can that back 4 be trusted though?I'd be inclined to stick with the same back 4 against Fulham and ease Branthwaithe back into it
No I agree that back line can't be trusted. I would much rather Branthwaithe in defence than not. He brings more confidence to the team when he plays too and brings out the best of Mykolenko, Tarkowski and Pickford imo. Or you could spin it that he reduces the chances of them making mistakes. I also think he was the difference in a win instead of a draw in the 2nd half v Palace. Can that back 4 be trusted though?
Ok you can say they kept a clean sheet last 2 games Ipswich, one of their guys missed a fantastic opportunity to score I think it was 0-0 at the time also got given a pen, yes it was over ruled
Newcastle pen again, Gordon should have scored as well as the pen
So bottom line bring your best players back, we all know Keane is an accident waiting to happen, costs us too many goals and points over the many years he has been here
For me it would be Keane and Branthwaite today.I'd be inclined to stick with the same back 4 against Fulham and ease Branthwaithe back into it
Ya Keane has been arguably better than Tarkowski this season esp in the Newcastle game and covered his mistakes but on the flip side Branthwaithe and Keane haven't played together before in the league that I can think of and Branthwaithe has a good partnership with Tarkowski and both looked good together against Palace in the 2nd halfFor me it would be Keane and Branthwaite today.
I think if your message to the players who aren’t making the team is that they need to sit tight and keep working hard, that their chance will come and they need to be ready, and if they play well they will keep their place, then you have to play Keane, because he’s done all those things.
Saying that I do think Dyche may very well use two clean sheets as an excuse to stick with Tarkowski and Keane and keep JB on the bench.
