2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

He's obviously not fit.

There's something we're not being told about his fitness/the club are protecting him.

... since then, he eventually come in - then promptly injured.

Hopefully they never rushed him back when he did start against Crystal Palace.

It's a long season, we need him.

The club under Dyche got to grips with Calvert-Lewin's fitness by not playing him until we was fit.

They definitely rushed him back.

Dyche was under massive pressure and forced him to play 90 minutes.

Manchester United are set to reignite their interest in £70m-rated Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, with the Merseyside club unable to afford a new contract for the 22-year-old England international. (Mail - subscription required)
Meanwhile, the Burnley Brothers are trousering £200k a week between them, and the worst manager in the league is taking home the sixth-highest wage.

I am just not sure that's the case. Dyche has been saying he got injured after coming back but...... it didnt happen in a game. It happened in training. Where EVERYONE ELSE has gotten hurt. We have had what, one, maybe 2 players hurt in a match and another 6-7 in training? It seems just a convenient excuse, he would just be hurt in training at some point and so would anyone else.

If he was in danger of being hurt, why is he training fully and playing in matches? Its insane to me to say that a player isnt fit to play but hes literally playing. The only other alternative is to say Dyche is putting him in danger by playing him right now. If thats true then you cant say Dyche is doing a good job of protecting him while hes literally putting him in danger.

I have no idea what has happened in this case obviously, but just to be clear - being rushed back and then getting injured in training would absolutely make sense. The second part, i'm not really sure what you mean. You're always 'in danger' of getting hurt, and very few players are ever operating at 100% fitness. It's a question of how fit is fit enough rather than expecting people to be at peak fitness.

Agree that they rushed him back, has he stated Branthwaite isn't quite ready yet? If he wasn’t fit to play, he likely wouldn’t have made cameo appearances in the last two games, let alone make the bench. Wasn’t there an article mentioning that some players were surprised Branthwaite didn’t start against Fulham? If that’s accurate, it suggests he’s been training normally.

Again, we have 6-7 training injuries and from players that werent hurt before. So why would we believe that a guy who was just fine playing 90 minutes, and is currently fine playing, and is so fine playing hes been called up to the u-21 squad, is hurt so that he cant play. Except he can play. But magically only a certain number of minutes before he gets injured, so that is Dyche "protecting" him.

Its just nonsense.
