How fit does a centre back need to be to be "dyche fit"?. He will barley cross the half way line unless it's for a set piece.
His recovery pace and ability to stretch those long legs is a big part of his game. If he comes back too early, breaks down and goes into a cycle of injuries I wonder who we would blame?

TBF to Dyche (not something many will type this season) in 22/23 everyone was imploring him to get Calvert Lewin back out there but he took his time even when the team were desperately struggling and then he returned for the final 10 or so games and played a part in keeping the team up. Then limped off at Wolves in the 37th game and had a disrupted pre season.

In last 12 months I think he's missed the odd game so with sensible management his injury issues appear a thing of the past so need to trust him when he thinks Branthwaite is ready or not.

It's been a poor start but far too early still to be putting in key players when they're not close to 100% fitness.

Absolutely ridiculous that we’re at the point of criticising the coaching staff for ensuring players are fully fit before they return to premier league football. Maybe we can go back to the days of Mina Doucoure DCL breaking down every single time they came back from another lengthy absence.

This!

Give credit to Duchecthat he doesn't flinch and risk players, with an eye on the long game.
