It's going to take 2-3 months of football before we see him get back to the level we bought & hope we were buying. Being out for as long as he has will have a long lasting effect on his overall body health. I see him as a last 10-20 mins substitute when he does comes back for quite some time bar injuries.
One good thing though is that he can be completely remolded by Carlo into the player he wants as he's been out so long that his old teachings from previous coaches will be distant memories. Players that listen & learn from Carlo & do as he wants tend to be successful.

In all honesty mate, it would be a miracle if he came back to be the same player he was before all the injuries. I think back to Abou Diaby for Arsenal who was fantastic, thigh injuries in particular completely botched his career. Can only hope for his sake, these aren't recurring problems that will plague him for the remainder of his career.

I wouldn't say miracle but i agree with the sentiment. I said 2-3 months before we see him close to what we bought but it's probably going to be longer, maybe even next season if we are lucky that we get him back as what we bought.

He looked raw when he played for us, which makes the injuries even more nasty. This is really a 50/50 on if he'll ever come good. Shame. So unlucky.

He wasn’t raw he wasn’t match fit. We’d dragged him straight from international footy into PL footy with no adaptation period. If he gets over these injuries he’ll be a monster - vault me.

Fixed that for you mate... Thought is the key word you missed out.
He was a Brands buy...who hasn't had the best success rate, Iwobi, Kean, to name but 2.
He wasnt fit when we signed him (what sort of medicals do we give them ffs)
He wasn't fit when we played him...Silva in panic mode. So he had brief runs in an average side where he was average performer

Then he got injured....or more likely made worse the injury the medical team signed him with

I hope he makes a full recovery - but I'll not hold my breath

He was raw though. Doesn’t mean he won’t be a monster, but he was definitely raw. A mate of mine goes to Mainz most weeks and he was pretty surprised we signed him because he didn’t think he was a stand out for them.

Didn't want him as a 20m unknown from a crap Bundesliga club at the time. Two potential career-ending injuries later, I think it's a safe bet to say he's hardly going to set the league on fire with us. Wish him the best but can't see it.

I don't know mate, i guess we'll just have to wait and see. Hope you're right though, he deserves to emerge as a great player after how traumatic this experience must have been.

Yeh I mean the injury to me is a massive worry as it’s a place you don’t often get the same player. Worst thing is he was bought on his physique. Worth £20m+ I’ll say no at this point but if he recovers properly he’ll be really useful.
