Incorrect...he did say that he will be fit for the start of the season after he did his achilles
Glad someone else remembers that. Can’t find the quote (probably about July thinking about it) but I remember thinking it sounded very unlikely.

Can’t see him playing this season because he will need a run of games to get match fit and all our games are too important, especially the cup games. Any other season we would be on mid table nothingness and out of cups so it wouldn’t be a problem. He will need a full pre season to get into a position to fight for a place. Too many people praying for this lad to be like a new signing becuase of how poor Davies and Gomes are but they need to manage their own expectations, no way this lad plays this season unless it’s the last 10 games and it doesn’t matter cuz we’re off the pace. As long as our season is alive and it very much is, forget about it

Oh Oh Gbammin, Gmam Gbam Gbam, Gbammin. A new chant for the ball fetchers in the empty Gladys St. Or they could record it for the phoney crowd noise. Ggggbbammin could buy a copy and play it back to his grandkids.

Not meaning to put the thread on an even deeper level of disappointment/ frustration, but when and how does an insurance payout come into it? Is it specialist saying that one injury won't clear up enough? Or is it a stage were repeated injuries mean he couldn't be expected to get close to the level needed to play in the Premier League?
