If he plays tonight, hopefully he manager sees him as third choice central midfielder and it makes him try to offload Davies and Delph before the deadline, either sold or on loan with an obligation to buy in Davies' case.

Why would the exit door be a logical answer? Struggling to find the logic in that one...
I think if he's fit and available to play tonight (given Covid guidelines and fitness), then Benitez will definitely start him. He obviously liked the look of him in the US pre-season
I think what he means is if he is fit and ready but is not given a game then Benitez may not rate him, therefore exit door beckons.

I don't understand all this negativity, he played every game preseason and looked stronger in each game he played in, the only reason I think he hasn't featured so far this season is because he has been isolating..

I think he looks a great player, every time I have watched him play, he has had an impact...genuinely expecting great things from him.

Not sure why people think throwing him into a cup game away against lower league opposition is a good idea - They'll have the sniff of a giant killing in their nostrils and will probably launch all of our players into the air

Better to play him in the Premier League where physical contact is basically banned

They're a championship club not long out of the Prem, it's a perfect opportunity. You do a disservice to the quality of the championship.
