This. I'd be giving him the opportunity to prove himself now he has managed a sustained run of games out on loan (and performed well from what I heard).

It could help solve a problem for us and mean we can spend elsewhere. If it doesn't work, send him off in January.

I've no confidence in this lad making it in this league. Throw him in in pre season, if we don't break him, give him a run in the team at the start of the season. If he does ok and stays fit, big ask I know, then happy days. If, as I suspect, it is too much for him, then we have to look at ways of getting him off the books in January, Probably a series of loans until he is out of contract, as I don't see anybody buying him.
