Ask 10 people if they have ever broken the speed limit, 10 will say yes, ask 100 people if they have ever drunk driven, 1 will say yes.

Im just saying, we all speed, not many drink drive, so im sure speeding kills more people, cos its quite widespread.

I have no point to make, both are bad yes, but drink driving is defo more frowned upon.

Just because he can afford such a car is not an excuse. Does it say any where what speed was he doing in his Lambo?

There isn't though.

Doucoure was clocked going 102mph in north London.

Gbamin was over the limit at 5am in Cheshire.

They're both idiots for doing it and both could have caused serious harm. Fortunately they didn't.

We might all speed - as in, go 5-10mph over the limit in certain areas. Not many people go 50+ mph over the limit and there excuse being it's a French car so they were confused by the speed limit (even though it was 160+ kmph).

I think what Gbamin did was ridiculous and he's been punished fairly so. But the idea we'd rip up his contract - or should do - because of it is based entirely on people being angry about his injury record.
Depends what road he did it on.

Hey I'm from Australia. We have pretty heavy fines - I don't know what it is maybe $1000 if you go over .05 blood alcohol limit in Victoria.

But I read on toffeeweb comments Gbamin had one drink and he was fined 25,000 pounds - that sounds insane. I'm ok with a 14 month ban, but 25,000 pounds is a lot of money for the average person?

Hang on, so because it was when he was at Watford, it's fine?
Obviously not, although after all the years I lived in London how he managed to get anywhere near that speed is a miracle in itself. But as I said he was Watford's problem them. My gripe is with a player who should be working day and night to get himself fit but is on the lash instead.

It`s proportional to wages / salary > the more you earn, the bigger the fine.

You can gripe all you like but the club aren't going to be ripping up his contract or 'getting rid' because of it.

He could have had two or three drinks, he could have had a skinful.

We don't know, do we. Other than he was over the limit and shouldn't have been driving. He's been punished.

Driving a flash motor at 5am, you get a pull off the police all day long.

Especially Cheshire Police.
Was always told never to mess about with them.

It wasn't that though. He crashed into another vehicle, they swapped insurance details and the person he crashed into called the police. Gbamin stayed at the scene (obviously) and was breathalysed there.

I've not had a car crash but if the police do come (as in it's not just a small bump that you sort out without calling the police), it's standard practice for both parties to be breathalysed is it not?

Social desirability effects have an influence on that result. I'll bet that a lot more people have driven when they shouldn't have than will cop to it. There's also more people that never have done that than you'll find that have never broken a speed limit.

Adults that have never broken the speed limit are like adults that have never have had sex - they're out there, but they're well outside the norm of humanity.

Most adults have never driven a car into triple digits in MPH, though. That's a different level of recklessness than garden variety speeding.
