This sounds like a cunning plan that we should be orchestrating and going halves on the profit with the buying club. ?The only reason they would do this is if they managed to insure him for more than they pay. In that case it's just free money.
As much as I don't want Longstaff, he would at least be available for selection most weeks.Operation gbamin out, longstaff in commence.
Could be a grain of truth to that.Agreed and he is still barley making it - i wonder does the manager just not fancy him.
I think is might work if lille are managed by simpletons, worth a goIt's a stretch but if I were handling transfers for the club I'd be on the phone to Lille and trying to put together a deal where we buy Renato Sanches for £25m in January, and send Gbamin the other way for £18m at the same time.
We'd make a small profit against Gbamin's book value, as would Lille with Sanches. Our outlay would only be £7m. Both players would get a fresh start.
Lille indicate Sanches available in January 2022
No one would pay 18 million for Gbamim. It's a stretch but if I were handling transfers for the club I'd be on the phone to Lille and trying to put together a deal where we buy Renato Sanches for £25m in January, and send Gbamin the other way for £18m at the same time.

Not normally, I agree. No one would pay 18 million for Gbamim.
Plenty of clubs are. No idea if Lille is one of them though.I think is might work if lille are managed by simpletons, worth a go

But no-one will pay £25m for Sanches in January 2022 either, because he's OOC in summer 2023. Both clubs would be inflating the transfer fees for the purpose of recording "profits" against book value. It's mutually beneficial from an accounting perspective.
I reckon he gets minutes at the end of a couple of matches before the busy xmas fixtures.Won’t play another minute in the Prem IMO.
