I'd get rid. Jelavic showed how limited his all round game is last season and I think Martinez's style is going to be too quick for him.

England is a tough place for pure poachers to thrive. Crespo could never get a run ahead of Drogba (who was a one in three goal scorer in those days) and even van Nistelrooy ended up getting binned for Saha because Ferguson wanted more than just goals from his strikers.

Think we should keep him and give him another season. I think his attitude was always positive and his poor form was not for the want of trying. He was a little unlucky with some of the chances he missed in the early season and I think that then translated into him snatching at chances and lowering his confidence further. If we sell then £6m is probably a bit low. I think these stories about hamburg are an effort by them to try and unsettle the player and get him on the cheap.

And God said, “Let Jelavic start slotting again.” So God made Jelavic start slotting. And there was slotting, and and more slotting. Jelovic slotted for four hundred and sixty four days.

I hope he stays. New manager, new chance. Give the lad half a season at least to show what he can do.

Aren't we also in need of quality passes from m/f? Attacking down the flanks is all well and good but you need variation. I sincerely hope we address that situation by the end of the window.

Agreed. Tactics seem to be get it out to Baines so him and Pienaar can create an opportunity for Baines to cross or more recently see if Coleman can do likewise for himself on the right. We need someone who can drop off the front and thread a ball through to a winger who is cutting in or looking for the run of a front man

I would guess that RM is not in a rush to sell Jelavic but couldn't guarantee him that he would be first choice striker next season, in fact Kone would appear to be the preferred option.
I think it is likely that Jelavic couldn't accept that option and has requested a move.
If memory serves me correctly there has been an almost contstant undercurrent of unhappiness from Jelavic, even when he was on the scoring streak when he first came.

However, I expect he will allowed to leave at a time that suits Everton and for a deal that suits Everton.

he should stay. He's a confidence player but is a natural goalscorer. Last season with Felli playing in the hole really didn't suit him. Maybe a different system with hopefully Felli sitting deeper in his natural position will help...I would play Kone Jela and MIralles as a front 3...Kone and Miralles can do all the running leaving Jela to do the slotting

With Martinez in it's a new dawn for Jela. Feed him and he will score. Surely he'll not be mis-kicking all over the place like last season, i swear mis-kicks and cockups denied him at least 5 goals.

I'll blame the coaching staff for his form and cross fingers for him and Kone destroying the scoring charts.

Problem is though he can't run with the ball...and when he gives it a go he ends up on the deck a second or two after carrying it.
