So basically like a fit James Vaughan?

Leeds play some decent stuff with good players like Snodgrass and Beccio. Dont forget they were walking league 1 until they beat United and things went a bit sour from then on.

He'll give us an option and hopefully he'll work his socks off - something Leeds fans say he doesnt do for them and gets all moody most of the time. He's been their leading goal scorer for seasons and their fans dont like him. Bit strange like mainly due to his attitude.

Moyes is never wrong with signings. But Im sure he's not going to be "that" player to take us the next level. Like I say, good bolster to the squad on a free. Wont get much of sniff if Yak and Saha are firing on all cylinders though.

That emboldened bit is a cliche.

We already are top level. What we lack is consistency and comes from not having fit players who can forfill different roles and allow us to change things. We're starting to accumulate it now though!

What we lack is just a couple of additions on what we already have, and this lad is different to Yak and Saha.

Vaughn is just not physically robust enough. he's like a thoroughbred race horse one knock and he's out for months....

I'll say no more but I think this lad is a decent signing. He unlike Jo has pace.......... and when he comes to us he'll be made by the manager to focus.

I was pointing out the "we need a new striker" balls that keeps getting brought up, the one that wins those types of games when a a top striker brings the team out the [Poor language removed].

Not doubting the signing, it'll add to the team. Im just not expecting much.

Whats the problem lads?

If it was Liverpool/Tottenham/Villa linked with him, you'd all be wondering/moaning why we weren't in for him.

90 goals in 164 appearences is impressive at any level. You can only beat whats in front on you and so far, the lads done it and done it well.

He's available on a free, he''' be desperate to prove himself and has a good record of putting the ball in the net. If for any reason he doesn't make it, we'd be able to make a few quid on him.

He has all the makings of a Cahill/Jagielka/Lescott type signing.

Once you get passed the accent and the rhyming slang Paul Merson talks the most sense of all the talking heads on Soccer Saturday. Every weekend through january he was championing Beckford, saying Wenger should throw £2m at Leeds for him. Whoever said we'd be moaning if Villa, Spurs or Liverpool were about to sign him is right. If nothing else he'll add pace to our otherwise pedestrian attack. His attitude sounds suspect but if he fails to settle I'm sure a relegation-threatened side would gladly give us £3-4m for him in january.

N'Zogbia would be a great signing, better than Donovan if for no other reason than the fact that he's 5 years Landon's junior. Would be the direct, pacy winger we've crying out for for years, excited to hear LCAB mention him. He's a bit versatile as well isn't he? Can play either side or through the middle if we needed him there.

This totally, if hes crap Moyes wont play him, if he steps out of line Moyes will SMASH him.

I got a good feeling about the lid myself, hope he defo signs.

This boy will score goals hes a different type of player, i liken him more to the likes of Darren Bent and Jermaine Defoe, he not going to spray the ball 60 yards the way Saha and the Yak can, he wont link up play like the Yak or hit a belter from outside the box like Saha, but hes very good at making space and putting the ball in the net, hes a finisher pure and simple - we havent had one of them since Lineker, unless you count Franny Jeffers which i dont.

More importantly i think he could compliment Saha (Quality), Yak (Link up play), and even Vaughan (Pace) and Vic (Power). Dont see the risk to be honest.

Zog me up Davey!

Excellent point there mate, he's just an out and out scorer. Could be effective in a front two with someone who can hold the ball and bring others into play, like Yakubu for example. Even if the front two option thing is done in the second half from the bench, when were chasing games or want to kill things off.

It's all hypothetical at the moment like.

As a backup striker, don't think he'd be a bad buy. If we are looking for looking for a bargain striker to provide depth I'd rather have Nugent though.

WOOOO. BECKFORD!!

WOOOO. N'ZOGBIA!!

Good transfer window so far then.

Forgetting about AJ? He wont be no AJ IMO.

Like I say, good bolster, adds something different. Not expecting much from him though.
