Fail to see what the risk is really, Moyes has been intrested in him since he was 24. We have probably the best manager in the league in terms of making lower leauge players into top Prem ones and hes free, even if he stays for a year and doesnt score as much as we hope, flog him to a high up Championship team for a good few million, all the gain with minimal risk!

In terms of numbers im never disspaointed adding to the squad less we forget our striker shortage last season and i wopulodnt be to bothered if he took Jos pspot next season - on his current showing.

Graysons just having a pop relly - they must hate Everton at Leeds - pinching Garbutt and now Beckford all for the lowly price of about a million sheckels!

Happy with this. Paves the way for Vaughan to sod off. He's younger than vaughan, he's more talented, he's quick and he's more mature on the pitch. Good signing if there's no hitches (this is Everton:lol:)
Vaughan's 21, faster, on lower wages and has a far greater attitude...

Agree, they're acquiring an asset for nothing. He's 26, he has value to someone if he doesn't hack it at Everton.

Scunny fan here, and Everton when I can get......stay well clear of Beckford.......we had him on loan for our Championship winning season and he scored a few goals for us but they came from nowhere. He’s done nothing for years, been farmed around the lower leagues on loan, he was at Carlisle before us and couldn’t hit a barn door, came to us and looked awful but then starting scoring wonder goals from nowhere. This is still the best goal I have ever seen live wont let me post it, youtube beckford rotherham and you'll find it , but misses the easy goals, tap-ins, one on ones etc. He needs 4 or 5 chances to score. Really poor disciplinary record, hot headed and sulky if it’s not going his way and not particularly liked in the dressing room..................he told all of Scunny how much he loved them and that he wanted to sign for us......final game passes and he’s never to be seen again and has bad mouthed us ever since.

In short, talented footballer with a massive ego but who’s goals to chances ratio has to be one of the worst in the lower divisions, he’s never played higher that league one!!!

That's all I've heard about him too mate.

This move doesn't make any sense to me. he is a 26 year old who is playing in the third tier of english football, has suddenly become a bit famous which has something to do with the man utd game.

Why would MOyes want him here anyway? Does he sees Saha leaving for sure? If that is so then buying Beckford is a step backwards surely.

I rate Vaughan and Victor higher than him. They are much younger, hungrier and the fact that Beckford has got good pace doesn't make him better than them.
Vaughan and Victor would both score 30 seasons if they were injury free and in the third tier like leeds.

Don't see any logic behind it really

This.

I'd rather keep Saha another season. Vic and Vaughan just need games but with our small squad we havent been able to loan them out.

Beckford sounds like a tit. But he's free and if he enjoys playing second fiddle to the Yak and maybe it allows Vic and Vaughan out on loan....See what Moyes does.

For free he is worth it. Seems to have the knack of scoring even if its in the lower leagues. Be worth a try.

His goal aganist utd probably made him big headed an that why he wanted a transfer.

What's the point of buying a striker who had difficulty scoring easy goals or need 4 to 5 chance to score?
Please don't go back to the days of Bent and Radzinski.

one goal proves he can score in the Premier league????

That's about the only important goal he's scored for Leeds all season, look at the rest of the games he scores in, 4-2, 3-1, 5-1, 3-0 wins. He's a sulky ego driven player who misses more than he scores and goes missing in games for far too long. Obviously Leeds are a local club so get to speak to a lot of Leeds fans and he's not as highly rated as your led to believe......think his agents doing a great job!!!

NO!! But he has shown he has the ability to. He did'nt just score against United, he tormented them often enough in that game to suggest he can play against and get the better of the best defenders in the country. Ok, he may have a massive ego, but you can be sure that Moyes would drill some of that out of him. The lad can score goals, something Jo struggles to do. Vaughan is injury prone and Saha has had a string of injury problems himself. I dont think we will sign Beckford in the summer, but i also dont see what all the big fuss is about him to those who would oppose any possible move for him.
