If he comes for free, on relative low wages and turns out alright then where's the problem?

If he's a tool then he won't be tolerated, no better club for any tool to tone it down really.

If he doesn't make it we'll sell him to QPR for 2 million next season or something.
 
He may come on a free but will want a 3/4 year contract so I do not see that if it does not we can just get shut!

Anyway would not be coming until the summer so a lot can happen before that. Personally do not rate him as a players for us given the points members have made and would he muck up our dressing room spirit.

Absolutely, and it's not like we have a record of bringing through lower league players and not doing anything with them.

If beckford is being rated on his ability to find the net than he could find himself in the prem.. however I honestly dont think he is real quality.. Conor Casey scores goals in MLS along with Jeff Cunningham but they are not quality.. IMO
 
Joy, an average league 1 player.

I wouldn't mind if he was 3 or 4 years younger, but he's 26. He's not going to improve much.

If my prayers are answered than LD will be the big signing in the summer.. after he extends his loan till the end of the season
 
So far so good for Landon.

By March I'm sure Moyes (and the fans) will know enough if he's worth buying, liking what Ive seen so far mind. Always liked him from watching the (GO) US team.

Fair enough. We'll make a profit on him. I just think he might not be good enough, making it a complete waste of time signing him.


And on Donovan, Weren't there some reports that he could be available for £2.5. Probably bull, but would be a no brainer if anywhere near that price.

Based on what I've seen, it would be a steal at that price for Donovan.

Thing is that it's contradictory to what I've read where a figure of around 10$ million US was mentioned, which could still turn out cheap at the price.

If Im right a pre-contract agreement can be broken out of easily enough so there's still a lot of water under the bridge until the summer.

If he goes elsewhere then he's always been [Poor language removed], naturally.

LCAB reckons Donovans keen to stay, so that weighs in our favour

And apparently it was sky reporting the £2.5 million fee. Would be daylight robbery.

We'd recoup that in shirt sales.

Dude,Ian wright was waaaaaaaaayyyy better. The fact that beckford just scored one goal that most of us would remember(against man utd) doesn't make him special at 26. he scored that goal with Gary Neville defending [Poor language removed]! He couldn't spot his run when he could have done it so easily.

The Yak goes without scoring for months and we paid 11.25 M for him. Who would you rather entrust scoring the goals when both are off form, yak or beckford?

We don't need egocentric players like Beckford in the side. Doesn't matter if he's for free or not. You've got Agard,Vaughan,Vic,Baxter and maybe Jutebox next season fully fit and wanting the spot upfront when they can with Saha hopefully and Yak the first two choices. Add beckford to it where does he fit in? i hope moyes doesn't wanna make him a winger cos of his pace!

Sign him up then. Cause obviously everyone who can run a bit faster than anyone else is brilliant.

Vic aint good enough, Jutkiwicz also aint good enough, Baxter, well is he a forward??, Vaughan is injury prone and Agard looks to have all the pace in the world yet seems to just have that. Who thought Cahill would be a success when Moyes bought him from Millwall. There is plenty of talent in the lower league's, players like Jobi McAnuff and Jermaine Beckford.
