2024/25 Jesper Lindstrom

….but all wide players need to work back, Matey, it’s been that way since Giggs and Beckham. What they need to be is a threat in attacking areas.

There’s no excuse for Lindstrom not making an impact, the lad puts in a shift but he’s not exploited opportunities in the top third. He’s been disappointing given his quality. If there’s one issue with our wide attackers, I’d say the full-backs aren’t the best ‘partners’. Again we bring players in with no thinking about blend.

Maybe Lindstrom is best as a no10 but it’s really up to him to produce.

Seriously mate wait and see ))

….Moyes has alluded to it himself, saying it’s not all about the Manager, players need to take responsibility.

Lindstrom fluffed a number of one-on-ones in his early games and other than a back post volley he missed, I can’t even think of a chance he’s been on the end of. I’m not a believer that our wide players are restricted given Ndiaye on the opposite flank.

I just think Lindstrom has been a big disappointment. I agree that there’s quality there, maybe he needs players on the same wavelength to see the best of him but I’d like to see him busting a gut to get in the box when the ball is on the other flank, I’d like to see him threaten when he’s in attacking areas but he’s just not producing.

Let’s hope the change in manager gives him and others a reset.

Personally think he's gonna turn into the new Messi under the guidance and love of David Moyes.
Yeah sure and the Bambinatore will be Ronaldo! Everton have big problems upfront and i see big problems for the rest of the season. No pace, no physicality and nobody with a goal instinct means you wont score goals. And that isnt even Dychies or Lampards fault. It has more to do with the DOF . Rcruiting by youtube without the the slightest clue...

Moyes has already seen him in person. Played in Frankfurt's first leg tie in the Europa League semis against West Ham. He played on the right of a front three that night, dropping into the pocket to link the play up between the midfield & Borre up front. They won 2-1 with him playing a big part in their second goal if I remember it correctly.

On the latest behind the scenes video you see Moyes chatting and joking with him about it. Just a little thing maybe but for a player struggling with confidence it’ll be nice to know the manager’s seen what you can do at your best.

Has looked out of sorts on the wings - especially in a Dyche system which is more about bombing up and down and being robust off the ball.

Seems to have good technique though, and his dead ball delivery is delicious.

Can defo see him working out more central in a ten, where he can stroll around and spray it without having to worry about getting back wide to support the full back.

Hill & Coppel, also, Busby sometimes had Charlton and Law on posts defending corners - nobody was to good not to help out if required
When Bayern scored 1st in the 2nd leg who was chasing back in a vain attempt to kick it off the line?
Sheedy !

The wide players have been restricted by lack of movement/support from other players. I blame that on Dyche for the most part.

I think there is a player in there and will be interested to see what Moyes can get out of him.
