2024/25 Jesper Lindstrom

I think he gets some unfair stick. He comes on and has a real go at making things happen, tracks back well to help out in defence when needed and offers himself up to take dead balls in a team where senior pros shrug their shoulders and look round at each other wondering who's going to take a corner.

Personally I'd have Young on the RW, Dixon at RB, Lindstrom at 10 and Broja up top - even though that leaves N'daiye out on the left in his unfavoured position I think we've got more legs in the team who can attack and defend as a unit and interchange better with each other.

Or...we brought in a player for a free loan who could 'do a job' along with Harrison because we had no money yet again.
Either way its poor recruitment as neither is a right winger, as for no money I get there were constraints but i don't buy there were no other options in world football. Need I add we have spent on O'Brien, Beto and Chermiti(yes low downpayments but still those three did cost even on structured payments) and still didn't fully address the right wing and pace..

Do we not say this about every winger when they don’t produce, in an attempt to convince ourselves they’re not crap?
It's the truth, in this case. He was great in Germany, playing number 10. I think Liverpool were trying to buy him? Moved to Italy, played wide an do struggled.

I'm not saying he is an amazing player, but only fair that he gets a chance in his best position.

I think that’s what we did here. Not really his best position but could do a job and is an extra body to go along with Harrison. That’s what we were reduced to under Moshiri.

He’s never really convinced since he’s been here. Desperate for an effective right winger.

Said he'd be the flop of the season, don't think it'll change.

We wanted Gnonto, Minteh, Philogene etc.

We signed him because we ran out of options. 4 managers didn't fancy him at Napoli but it's Dyche why he isn't performing in the Prem. Apparently.

He and NDiaye were going to resolve the problems we'd had for years in the final third apparently 😂

I mean no two attacking signings were ever going to 'sort us out'. Decent full-backs and a striker will elevate their games. Lindstrom I just never felt was a good fit to begin with and I loved watching him in Germany.

Which is why I was saying in the summer we were in for another season of pain/I'd have taken 17th

Just have to hope they invest this January.
