Apparently not. But even so I would not want to sign a 29 year old on a 150k a week deal for what will likely be a minimum of 3 years. It's not the direction the club should be going in.

If players are out of contract then unless clubs get together and refuse to pay it(aint gona happen) then its the route most clubs will be going down. We've just agreed to pay a 29yr old who got relegated 100k a week.

Clubs are the fools for paying it but you will always get one club that will do the deal behind anothers so it wont change.

Don't get me wrong I would much rather we explored other avenues and the reported 150k a week is far too much.

However all of us are over exaggerating how bad he is. It was only the season before last that he went to West Ham on loan and was their best player in the run in to them getting European football.

He was meant to then make a permanent move to them but United didn't allow it (the Mason Greenwood incident happened, so united potentially needed him and essentially allowed him to waste a year of his career as a back up). I didn't really watch any games for United, but I know a lot of United fans (Unfortunately) and they all said that he brought a lot of energy to the team in the games he did play and that he arguably should have been given more game time. Now this is partly because of how much Rashford stunk out the place and anything was better. But basically my point stands, he isn't completely useless like a lot of us are saying.

Not sure we have thought for quite a while, we just seem to go after other teams targets even if we are their second or third choices. Think I will be physically sick if we sign Lingard, he's a prototype signing of what we should be walking away from, a bit part, aging, ( for a forward/ winger), top six squad player, who is on massive wages and doesn't really want to play for us anyway.
