Howard is a quality keeper and rightly should be in the first XI.

Roubles is on a long-term contract and should be given his opportunity to shine this season in the league cup and in those home games where you'd be fuming if we put eight players out and still didn't win.

What if, in training, it becomes clear as day he's 10x the keeper Howard is? What reason could there possibly be for playing an inferior player?

He looked good yesterday, but I noticed he was slow coming off his line a few times.

Exactly. After he got rounded for the first, he then hesitated to rush out in subsequent situations where he should have.

Having said that he kept the score respectable with two great one on one saves. 23yrs old for a GK is nothing. Massive potential, a steal for what we paid.

Such a behemoth of a keeper doesn't and never has existed.
Howard is a very decent keeper, at most I would hope the new lad is a worthy successor when the time comes.
If he replaces Howard immediately, it would be mental.

Howards not 'decent' or 'excellent' he's 'okay' always has been, he's a medicore keeper and we've never had the money to replace him properly, along with him being moyes' favourite. He's done a decent job over the years but thats about it, he's never been great. Unsure if Joel will replace him THIS season but he definitely will soon.

Well, when the time comes when he does lose his place I hope he has the good grace to stay and fight for his place back and not throw a strop. He's had things his own way for too long at this club. Never been in danger of dropping to the bench when richly deserved. That's not healthy.

I know its a youtube vid that just shows the positives, but spend a minute and just look at that link I put up showing some of last years better saves from Howard.

He's a very good keeper and his quality easily makes up for his occasionaly blips

I agree with Davek on this one, I hope he fights for his place when its time for him to step down and be replaced, but that time is not yet.
