Thats quite strange, because some people said his form last seaosn was because of quality if the player pusging him, compared to prev seasons.
People surmised it may have played a part in his form, and in some aspects it may have been true at the time.

A new goalkeeper amongst the ranks, who the manager clearly thinks highly of, must have been somewhat a threat. It may have inspired Tim.

However, I would 'suggest' that any such threat may have worn off. The last three times I've seen Robles play in person I've been unconvinced.

Southampton at home was embarrasing: Ramírez hit a shot right at him as he was upright, yet somehow it still flew through his arms flailing arms.

Arsenal away he was akin to Tyson with his punches, rather than a Premier League keeper. He was flapping like the infamous 'flappy bird'.

The goal last night was bordering on the ludicrous. Should I come out? Should I stay on my line? Should I save it? There is a common answer.

His distribution also leaves a lot to be desired, and that's even compared to Howard who isn't the best.

Based on just the above, I am relatively confident that Howard will not be feeling overly concerned about losing his place any time soon.

Nevertheless, I doubt complacency is the only aspect to Howard's below par performances as of late. I've always said he's a 'shot stopper'.

Howard can make some wonderful saves; for that he's one of the best in the league as he has proven on multiple occasions.

Yet, he isn't particularly amazing at other areas: very rarely commands his area; doesn't come off his line often; distribution is shaky.

When the defence is playing well (confident and secure in their ability), Howard can thrive. When they're off form he appears much more at risk.

Complacency linked with our defensive frailties is starting to make people question his recent form. Still....

... I doubt we'll be investing in a new goalkeeper to challenge either soon so, "USA! USA!" etc etc.

Obviously it was gash from him. I'm just saying that Howard has cost us plenty of times this season.

To be honest mate half the squad is costing us, from the back line allowing players to get into goal scoring opportunities with ease, to the midfield either allowing themselves to be by passed by the attack or not providing the forward line with genuine service. Unfortunatly i think this is going to be the story of the season
