Robles is an enigma for me. We signed him essentially as like 3rd or 4th choice keeper from Madrid and they clearly didnt rate him enought to sell him for buttons. He is very young so silly to judge him yet. But watching him vs Arsenal last year the fact he didnt catch a single ball in that game made me raise some questions about him.

Our problem has always been not playing our back up keeper enough so they always look rusty when they do get a game. Ruddy should have been given a chance, nash was no good for us, mucha who knows if he was good when we signed him.

When was the last time we had a number 2 good enough to push for the number 1?

GK's are weird because they always need game time before you can judge. 1 game here and there wont ever let us see what he can do.

I'm all for the "he needs a run of games" argument for a 'keeper usually, but getting beat at your near post like that indicates to me he's just a shoddy player. You wouldn't see that in a Sunday league game - the cover should cover the near post all day long there.

What is your problem ? I gave a opinion that i thought ruffier or perin would be good additions if howard or joel was to leave. Now all of a sudden i must be some computer nerd or some armchair fan because i watch foreign teams on the weekend ? Look at John Ruddy, who we're meant to be looking at.

Even de Gea, looked very dodgy at first - after a run of games/patience he's now looking like a top, top 'keeper.

Of course you expect a few cobwebs for a few minutes. Dodgy is one thing but that last night was beyond dodgy. I just cannot get over that face save he did.
