he looked happy enough to me afterwards

He looked gutted, cause he showed the mental strength to not break down crying on the spot like some clowns do doesn't mean he's not gutted. He put a brave face on it.

When the camera was focused on him after he gave his shirt to the kid you could see the pain on his face as he walked off.

So Robles' best game for Everton is one where, statistically, he conceded two goals and saved one out of 8 penalties.

Does this put him above or below Martyn after Southall?

Be fair bar the penalties he had a good game and did nothing wrong.

If you're going to slate him when he's done badly we can at least praise him when he's done well.

His best game in an Everton shirt. If I was to have one criticism, It would be that I thought he was far too easy to beat on the penalties. Committed himself far too early for me but as I said before, can't really fault the lad.
I agree with that, he seemed to be squatting down on his line to make himself small where most goalies spread as wide as they can to try and fill the goal.
Shame, great performance otherwise

Yeah I get that, but let them have their day in the sun.

There's more evidence to show this was the exception rather than the rule but if he does get some consistency it's win win really.

He was good last night but let's not get carried away. While I feel he will improve with game time, I reckon we still need to get a new GK, question is, who does he replace - Robles or Tim?

And while this brings nothing to the conversation, I did this while waiting for the toaster and coffee pot this morning while the wee 'un had her breakfast. Isn't it neat?

But by responding aren't you validating their point? Let them get on with it, it's not like they are making hokum claims he's working in the background to destabilise the manager and have him sacked.

Credit where due- excellent performance. I think he got thrown off massively by Adrian's (excellent) gamesmanship.
He even started imitating him-
talking to the shooters
throwing his hand out in the direction
jumping up and down

- he did all of these things only after Adrian did

I reckon he lost focus a bit. Which happens. He can only learn for future from this.
I do however really like that Adrian cat though.
