His stats are excellent this season and crucially he's been consistent, whereas Stek routinely goes from hero to zero in the blink of an eye. He's also much younger than Stek so there's no doubt he should be number 1 for now.
But really he deserved a proper shot at it long ago. Given how little he's played for us he's always kept improving and is always ready to step in and step up. He seems a good lad too who loves the fans and the club and buys into its ethos, as well as the city of Liverpool (given all the instagram pics of him eating out around town!)
So I hope Koeman gives him a fair chance and I hope he proves to be number 1 material. He's definitely got the tools on paper, as he's a great shot stopper, he's utterly huge but still agile, he is quick off his line and almost always gets those split second decisions spot on, and he's saved a few pens before too. All in all, I like him and I really hope he can make the number 1 shirt his own.
