Joel Robles

Are they all really better than Robles? Most of them probably have a higher profile, I agree. Imo Robles never really got a fair chance uptil now. Sure he got a few runs in the team, but never felt he got the complete confidence from his managers.

Not saying he definitely is the answer, or on a par or better than the goalkeepers mentioned, as I'll need more evidence on that atm. However, have to say that I'm warming to him.

Has a lot of attributes you look at for a gk though. He's tall, athletic and agile. Also seems to get more commanding in his area by the passing of each match he plays.

Definitely worthy of getting a chance of establishing himself as our no 1 keeper for the years to come.
I think he's improved dramatically this season with his command of the box and catching crosses. The other factor to consider in this is that he actually hasn't played that much first team football. I think he's got a lot of improvement to come. Keep him in until the end of season then evaluate whether we need to buy a no1 keeper.

He won't be here next year.

Best thing to do, is take him out the team while his stock is high and get a few quid for him in the summer.

Keep him in and he will have to do some work for a change. Some people seem to think the team working as a unit and defending restricting the opponents to hardly no efforts is down to Robles.

Sorry but I dont want to settle for good enough (assuming he is ...) I want class between the sticks. There is no reason why we shouldnt spend £20 million on a class act. I know the established keepers wouldnt come here but Pickford and Heaton would and thats before we look overseas.

They are not really that much better tho? Would you not rather have Robles prove it?

Must say his posistional play seems to have improved immensely and two clean sheets speaks for itself, pulled off some good saves against palace as well.

lol:bye:(n):D

I agree almost entirely with that sentiment.

Robles should never have been dropped that time.

I think it is unnecessary to refer to Timmy as a "clown" though.

He served our club with distinction for many seasons before his decline.

I can remember clearly the day when I knew that Howard had lost it: the 2-3 home game against Palace.

It took RM nearly 18 months to come to the same conclusion and in that time Howard had more than any other player ruined two entire seasons.

Not Howard's fault if RM kept picking him.
