Joel Robles

Do you remember at the beginning of the season, there was talk on here about Koeman having favourites and some were worried about players being benched after just one poor game ?

From http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2017/03/10/joel-to-keep-his-place-in-goal

Koeman said Robles will keep his place against the Baggies.
"Joel is starting. There’s no reason to change now,” said the Blues boss

That's a nice vote of confidence in Robles right there

Made one save early 2nd half racing out to Palm the ball away - dominates his box - Defence trust him to back pass to him we handeled their corners well - not much to do today granted his kicking wS brilliantone ball to KM in the first half on the wing was outstanding- thanks to RK trusting him and keeping him in this week against the criticism last week!

Stephen Hawkins would have kept a clean sheet today

Thought he was shaky today, maybe looking over his shoulder. Hopefully getting a clean sheet in not really his best performance will up his confidence a bit. Think he's been solid throughout the season and would be fine with him starting another year if we can't bring someone in.

He was shaking because he was cold?
As someone stated not much to do one save from Chadli when he was out fast from his line commanded his box well , and kicked well that's all he had to do !
To say a disabled person in Stephen Hawkins could do it was a poor sad analysis!

If he had spilled like Foster for the first he'd have been crucified on here. Always done well when he's come in and got messed about too long. Has a mistake like all keepers but clean sheets don't happen by accident.

The few chances he had he gave up a corner and seemed to react slow to the few balls that came his way. I've seen him play much better this season and it wasn't a big deal because WBA was so terrible. Sometimes the scoreline isn't everything as I thought he made some excellent saves against Spurs and didn't deserve some of the stick he got after that much. As I said I'm fine with Joel and would be comfortable with him starting next season.
