And as I said, if you look at the facts I don't think Ferguson fulfilled his potential with us. Yes he was a cult hero but he neither played often enough or scored often enough, especially for a player of his talent. Personally I think Barton has too many monkeys on his back to be a bonus to us, dunc was a slightly different story and the football required different attributes back then. I honestly think we are better than having to take Gambles now a days. I do think Barton's skill could assist us, but to what cost in finance and spirit on and off the pitch?

You could always use the Big Dunc as personal trainer idea I suggested earlier TX, like to see the sod play fast and loose with Dunc

At the moment I dont want him, to much of a risk. He could force the likes of Arteta out the squad.

Gamble no doubt, but as a player he's everything we need. If they want more than 3m for him (which they will), he's simply to much of a gamble.

He'd be great in a derby though.

I'm not too sure about it though. When he's good he's very good, when he's bad, well, I'd rather not speak about it.

I can't decide if joey will do us more good or bad, if it happens, I'll just have to sit back and see how the story unfold.

My opinion, as a footballer, Barton is worth the 5.5mill. As a teammate, I am not so sure of that figure. Remember we live in a time when a decent player begins at 5mill and a good player runs 10.
