John Stones transfer saga

I dont see how it could be construed as pressure to say: "As a club we're looking to keep our best players and build for the future so obviously the manager is resistant to losing John".

That woud have been the right thing (the skipper thing) to do. That places no pressure on the player, it merely places the club's ambitions forward for consideration in all this. That armband means he represents Everton.

Instead he stated that he didn't have an opinion and we all must leave Stones to it and respect his decision. Which is a pretty insulting statement.

Never in a million years is he a good captain for this club. As said above in the thread in relation to the last captain, Neville was a pain on the pitch with some woeful performances, but he knew how to represent his club at all times.
Who would you make captain? Not having a go, genuinely curious

Can anyone remember the last time The Boring One signed a top young talent and developed him into a top class player ? Certainly can't think of any youngsters he did this with and Chelsea, Inter or Real

If Chelsea, in this occasion, have been leaking to and manipulating the media then I would be quite dissapointed and somewhat embarassed but it would be out of recent character

Mate there's no IF about it, they did and anyone who's followed this whole shabby affair can not think otherwise, but that's not why I'm replying to you, surely you and every genuine football fan ( and you come across as one ) of every team should take heart in the stance we have taken over Stones and WBA have over Berahino. It's in the best interest of all teams that we have a strong league and by that I don't mean a strong four team league, There's rumours that Costa is wanting to return to Spain ( not sure how true ), now if Mourinho is adamant he wants to keep him and takes the same stance as Martinez I'm sure you will be praising him to high heaven. Just hope mate your owner doesn't ( this goes for Man city too) up sticks and decides he's had enough of his play thing.
