John Stones transfer saga

that is something I noticed. nearly all the reds I know have been pointing out the pursuit of Stones has been over the top. The idea we are making this up is just nonsense. I'm glad that few people have pointed out Liverpool did take a stance themselves that worked.
I think West Brom and Everton both standing firm is important

Baggies will have to give in, though.

Same with us and Lescott and the RS with Sterling.

The dummy has been spat out and there us no going back.

John Stones has remained dignified and professional throughout this so it is so much easier for us to resolve ut amicably.

State of him

Christ he's let himself go and judging by his face his blood pressure is through the roof

To be fair, they could have lifted it off this very thread yesterday when that clause was debated to death :pint2:

I was once again experiencing the joys of a camera (plus tripod too by the feel) down me pipe yesterday unfortunately so the debate passed me by. Glad I missed it on TalkS**** though of course !

Good man, Aaron....that was a great interview.

Ped sure put his points across in an assured and calm manner.

Cundy gave up the ghost halfway through when he tried the old message board troll trick of deflecting the argument by throwing sommat else in and accusing Ped of being "bitter"

Ped swatted him aside like a fly and Cundy piped down.

And they have asked Ped to come on again Tuesday night after the window closes lol

I don't think Ped did that well at all, he missed key arguments.

Stones has been ill advised, Martinez has said he's been influenced in handing in a Transfer Request, Stones did not want to force anything in the beginning and I fully believe he was happy to stay here because he knew he was under contract and that the club made it clear they did not want to sell him, and the fact he is a proper decent lad and respected this.

His agent, in contact with Chelsea, have tried to manipulate the situation to get the move, even though we have said from day one he's not for sale.

Martinez knows the lad, he's working with him day to day, he knows his agent and Chelsea have fried the lads head to try to get a move done.

That's the way I see it.

They are just like the rest of us now mate and I think they realise it. Players go to their club as a stepping stone to get to the trophy winning clubs.

My missus tried to have a little dig when the first bid came in, saying we are a selling club and needed the money. Piped her right down when I wheeled off Torres,Suarez, Sterling, Mascherano, Alonso all getting off to have a chance at winning trophies. Also threw in McManaman and Owen for good measure so she was aware it's been going on for nigh on 20 years ;)

ha. yeah. she was brave there. selling our best players is an argument few reds would dare try.

Quint, I don't think Ped was there to debate the whys and whys and wherefores of the transfer itself.

He shot Cundy's fox by agreeing it wouldn't have been a problem if the big bid had come in four weeks ago.

His main point was about the media involvement in trying to push it through and the hysterical reaction to Bobby's interview on Tuesday night and Bill's statement yesterday.

And to that end I thought he did splendidly.

Cundy gave up halfway through and the other bloke wound up accepting his points.

berahino will be interesting. not so sure they will cave in this window.

Sky have shot themselves in the foot, its got to the point that they give out so much money trying to make the top 4 super rich, that they have inadvertently given the other clubs enough money to stand up to them.

We will never buy a Messi under current restrictions.. but if we uncover one, Chelsea may not necessarily be allowed him either... At least not at first.
