State of him

He's a heart attack in the making, the fat mess.

Quint, I don't think Ped was there to debate the whys and whys and wherefores of the transfer itself.

He shot Cundy's fox by agreeing it wouldn't have been a problem if the big bid had come in four weeks ago.

His main point was about the media involvement in trying to push it through and the hysterical reaction to Bobby's interview on Tuesday night and Bill's statement yesterday.

And to that end I thought he did splendidly.

Cundy gave up halfway through and the other bloke wound up accepting his points.
He should have told Cundy the problem is Chelsea and Stones's agent getting together to try to manipulate Stones into forcing a move.

Why did Stones not come out from day one and say I want to leave, just like Sterling did, easy, because he respected the club, the fans and the fact he was under contract.

We saw a tweet from one of his mates, saying he was up for a move to Chelsea, but he was happy at Everton and knew the club would not sell him anyway, Stones knew this and accepted it, he's not daft or a tit, he has time, and is very happy here.

Over the weeks he's been worn down by his agent and been ill advised to hand in a transfer request, which has achieved nothing, only to create grief for Stones from a small section of our support.

These are the sort of points Ped should have put across to Cundy.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has politely told Chelsea to do one after the summer chase of the star defender John Stones.

Kenwright has issued a statement confirming that they have rejected a transfer request from John Stones and that the player isn’t for sale.

“Everton Football Club has rejected a transfer request from John Stones,” Kenwright said.

“Since the start of the transfer window, we have resolutely turned down offers from another Premier League football club for our player.

“John is not for sale and he will remain a highly-valued member of our first-team squad.”

Quite.

But that wasn't what he was on there to discuss last night.

Happen he can raise those other points when he is back on Tuesday for their post transfer window programme.

Sky have shot themselves in the foot, its got to the point that they give out so much money trying to make the top 4 super rich, that they have inadvertently given the other clubs enough money to stand up to them.

We will never buy a Messi under current restrictions.. but if we uncover one, Chelsea may not necessarily be allowed him either... At least not at first.
whats become clear it seems is that the likes of Chelsea feel they don't need to unearth the new Stones or Messi themselves because they can watch them at other Prem clubs and step in when they feel like it. If they are not even scouting lower leagues then it will be pretty bad for them in the long term too if the money dries up. Which it will
