John Stones transfer saga

I think this is referring to us offering Barnsley cash this past week to buy out the sell on fee. Not the actual transfer a few years ago.

Maybe we should buy out the sell on fee as we don't want to sell and Barnsley are losing out. It would be a sensible option.

This headline is amazing. His dream is to play for Chelsea or United. Either one, doesn't matter, it's his dream.

John Stones left devastated as Everton crush his Chelsea or Manchester United dream

I liked the related/linked story headline "Jose Mourinho provides update on Chelsea's pursuit of Man Utd target John Stones".........it'll take a generation to get these barstewards out of the papers........

Yes.

It could be jam today for Barnsley.

If John was to stay here for his whole career they would never get a penny.

Now that John's worth has been established Barnsley might like to think of taking a lesser fee now rather than run the risk of injury or unfulfilled potential seeing that worth fall dramatically in the future.

not sure exactly what happened with the buy out but if you suggesting we pay what Barnsley would have got at around 30 mill and make it clear why to the media then I think its great idea. stops this silly comparison between the two transfer situations and also keeps up good relations with them. apart from being a decent thing to do. might be a few million wasted but not in long term.

Jesus.

Even by the standards of what we have become used to over the past few weeks that bile takes some topping.

Nicol looks like Chris Evans on a bad day and Burley is spitting the dummy like the rest of the ex Chelsea playing community and their fans.

He is bitter beyond belief.

I find it absolutely incredible that a supposedly reputable channel like ESPN could air such a one-eyed discussion. Nicol was disgusting and Burley is beyond words... Truly awful.

Quote from BBC website:

It has been reported that Stones - who arrived from Barnsley for £3m in February 2013, and has four years left on his contract after signing an extension in August 2014 - has been forced to move out of his home and into a hotel after being targeted by angry Everton fans.

They then, are a disgrace to the name of Everton Football Club.

I genuinely don't believe that has happened. That reeks of an agent attempt to force the move.
