John Stones transfer saga

It was obvious what was going on with Stones, yes he was open to a move to Chelsea, x4/x5 wages and Champs league footy, but he's on a 5 year deal, and knew the club would not sell him so early into his new contract and accepted this, he was acting correct and proper, something 5% of footy players do in this situation, not throwing his toys out the pram like countless others this window.

But I wonder who forced him into handing one in, I mean, it's not like his agent stood to make 3 or 4m off the sale is it? :dodgy:

The whole "responding to a direct question" thing is ridiculous, since all the questions are agreed in advance with club/player publicists before the interview begins.

Not to mention that even if they weren't, what's stopping Cahill/Terry from saying "he's a great player, but he's contracted to another club, so I can't really say too much."
the standard "No Comment" he's now trotting out is "I wont comment on another club's player"
Door, stable, horse, bolted Jose lad

After the start they've had, if Chelsea got a points deduction for tapping Stones then the fume on Mourinho's face would be priceless

Chris Bascombe in the Telegraph wrote one of the most sensible Stones articles I've seen this past Friday

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-is-not-for-sale-they-can-really-mean-it.html

And he basically said that Chelsea seemed to know that Stones was going to put out the request a week before he did, and that in all likelihood it was them who prompted him to do so. Despite having no idea whether they could get the deal done anyway. Absolutely hung the lad out to dry.
