John Stones transfer saga

Two points. If we have budget there already why are we not making moves?

'Boss playmaker' - how much does one of these cost? If Martinez has scouted a boss unknown then he won't need 20 mill to get him. If he's found a boss playmaker who costs 20 mill plus then there's no way he's coming to Everton even if we have the money.
We have made moves by the sounds of it. Didn't we bid for/enquire about scott dann? Just because we haven't spent the money yet doesn't mean there's none available. Why wouldn't a £20m player come to everton if we had the money?? We spent £28m on one last year.

Don't see anything wrong with one of, if not the, best manager in the world - taking an interest in one of our best players.

If anything it's a huge compliment.

But Stones will not become Jose's player
Its not the interest in one of our players im talking about. Its the fact that when something doesn't go his way as planned, his response is by having a sly swipe at the club ' small club this, small club that ' as he has done here over Stones.

No. But you believe what you want to believe.

Everton can end all this very easily. Even if it means repeating the 'he's not for sale' line over and over. And frankly I don't know why they're not.

We'll have to wait to see what's said at the next press conference for one of our friendlies. If they maintain that he isn't for sale then they're just playing it cool, if they don't say that then he'll be gone be the end of the summer.

Disgusting read from Cahill.
Stones has the right people around him to progress here to his full potential ,he's not played a full season yet at this level.
Hope the lad takes the advice of Martinez Jags & Bainsey makes it to the top ,then earns a move to a real BIG club like Barca Real or Bayern
Not some cheapskate SMALLER club with lots of dodgy money to spend that epitomises everything that is wrong in football....dispicable.

again making up things dougie. I never said at any point they would be cheaper than him, i said better than him. And yes the defenders i named are better than stones is RIGHT NOW, but stones will probably be as good if not better as he progresses in his career.

Are you going to name a dozen defenders that would be cheaper than the fee Stones would cost Chelsea but are actually better than Stones and don't already play for Chelsea?

You know like you said "We sign an experienced defender from anywhere who is a little bit mobile and he will be better than stones"

Not a word from anybody within our club for a few days now.

The silence is deafening.
Given that Chelsea are making all the noise and we are silent I think we have the upper hand. Cahill's crap reeks of desperation. What next, a bevy of Russian babes offering themselves to Stones if he'll sign? Chelsea are putrid; if he was considering them, he'd surely change his mind at being part of such a despicable crew.

"It's a good market. That's why smaller clubs, if they have interesting young English players, they use that in the right way for them" - Jose Mourinho.

Rich coming from a club only established in 2004.

Fed up of this to be honest, this is obviously tapping up.

makes me laugh this thread.

Shock that young defender who has just made it to the first team may want to go and join the champions of the country, where he sees an english central defence pairing rather than two expensive mercenaries, and thinks to himself, i want some of that.

IF he wants to go then good on him, chelsea clearly will play him considering their first choice two are english. He will win a lot more with them than with us.

Difference would be us using the money and signing in players with it to allow us to compete in the future rather than cry about selling young talent.
Why does it make you laugh mate ? Look at you being all mature and grown up with this post. Who are you to turn your nose up at other Evertonians because they don't want their club to sell their best players (and starting again) ?

So no, the difference now is that we as a club no longer need to sell our top talent to survive like we did. We can actually build a team with decent players, rolling our sleeves up to have a genuine crack at winning some honours.
