"If we had a proper board the sale of stones would be bearable . The proceeds were then spent on making us better I could deal with this. Stones goes and we will get evans and some other looser as back up and the rest of the cash will vanish as usual. This is what hurts !!!"

that definitely is criticism agains our board that :D speculative bashing, but thats ok. it's your opinion
Agree this is an opinion site and hope I am wrong !

All these comments coming out of chelsea actually make me a tad more confident of keeping him, obviously its not going chelseas way and they cracking up a bit. Utter lack of class how theyre going about it.

Still for a bit of peace of mind would be nice of someone from the club to come out and say 'after continued rumours about the future of john stones in recent days, we'd like to confirm that he is not for sale and we're disappointed with the actions and words from the chelsea camp'.

Are you going to name a dozen defenders that would be cheaper than the fee Stones would cost Chelsea but are actually better than Stones and don't already play for Chelsea?

You know like you said "We sign an experienced defender from anywhere who is a little bit mobile and he will be better than stones"
better than stones now, and yes there is plenty. Vertogan (spelling), Alderwield, Sahko, Mertesaker (when he isnt turned), Dante to name a few.

All right of this minute are better centre halves through experience and the reliable type so to speak.

would signing alderwield have improved us? probably. Will stones be better? Yes.

i know youve mentioned the spelling and normally i think its being pedantic, but thats an incredible effort

Talking like he is already gone.

'From what I have seen when I have been away with him for England, he is a genuinely nice guy, a down-to-earth lad.

'There is nothing big-time about him. I'm sure he will be able to cope with the fee.

'Plus, with the right support around him, like from the more experienced players in the squad, and his family, I'm sure he'll be fine.

‘Personality wise he would fit into the group straight away. Potentially, he can be a top player, not just for us but also for England.

‘When a top club comes calling, who you know will be firing on all fronts with competitions and medals, that's ultimately what you want to be playing for. It's hard to turn down of course. ‘He will look at the club, look at the players, and look at being involved in a squad like ours. 'When Chelsea came calling for me, it was an opportunity, it was a chance and looking from the outset you may not be sure how it's going to go. 'But it's one you can't turn down, you have to grab it with both hands. Then you have to work as hard as you can to make it work.

Why does it make you laugh mate ? Look at you being all mature and grown up with this post. Who are you to turn your nose up at other Evertonians because they don't want their club to sell their best players (and starting again) ?

So no, the difference now is that we as a club no longer need to sell our top talent to survive like we did. We can actually build a team with decent players, rolling our sleeves up to have a genuine crack at winning some honours.
We didnt NEED to sell arteta either, we still did at 10 to 11 and made the money dissapear.

Point is, im not turning my nose up at anyone. It is the general reaction that us losing stones to chelsea is the same as city losing someone to them. Stones would be stepping up in his career, and why would anyone think he wouldnt want to do that? Just because he is our player.

i tend to not learn the correct spelling of foreign footballer names when they don't play for us mate. Just dont see the point as long as i can pronounce most of them i need to :)
