John Stones transfer saga

All these comments coming out of chelsea actually make me a tad more confident of keeping him, obviously its not going chelseas way and they cracking up a bit. Utter lack of class how theyre going about it.

Still for a bit of peace of mind would be nice of someone from the club to come out and say 'after continued rumours about the future of john stones in recent days, we'd like to confirm that he is not for sale and we're disappointed with the actions and words from the chelsea camp'.
Mourinho

It’s a good market. That is why smaller other clubs if they have interesting young English players they use that in the right way for them. I don’t even criticise them.

“They play the market for themselves. And if the big clubs don’t want to go over certain limits, they have to make a decision.

“And that is maybe why none of the top clubs are not full of young English players. But that is the market.”

The parts in bold is where he has started with his sly little digs at other clubs, with Everton in mind here. He's probably secretly fuming that for once, a club won't just roll over for him and Chelsea with their millions. Its clearly upset the little tit and this is where he and his club show himself.

He's absolutely toilet mate. Distribution is awful, positionally clueless.

Do you think Liverpool would sign him today for £18million if they had the option to?

I agree with you though, there are better defenders in the league than Stones. I'd go

Koscielny
Terry
Jagielka
Alderweireld

Vertonghen
Mertesaker
...to name some of the ones I can remember

Bold ones I think are behind Stones personally, although not my much, and I think Terry is in his last season - held up well last year though.

At CB? I'd have Terry, Kompany, Koscielny and Jagielka. That would be it for me. Standard in the prem for CBs is rank. Which is why selling a good one in the hope of replacing him easily is stupid.

aye and i suppose i keep saying they are only better than him right now. So if we sold stones and signed kolscieny for arguments sake then our defence would be better than with stones in it. However a stones at the same age os kolcieny is now would be better. Its not about slagging him off or anything, its just that people seem to forget stones is no way the finished article.

but its all going off into detials lol

Yeah i agree. But if chelsea want our player then they will get out player no matter how much or little it would cost to do so. This was my point all along, we dont NEED to sell him, but if the offer is what we want then we will anyway, no matter how much we rate the lad. Its business and whatever the official value the club have on stones head right now they are just waiting for that to be met rather than fighting off advances for him
You seemed to be leaning on the sell him , it will be easy to replace him .(Sakho oh dear)
We Dont Need to sell , but if anyone wants to disrupt our future plans they best start talking £50 mil +
He'll be England centre half for the next 10 yrs,we shouldnt be even considering ANY bids at all for this lad.

Whens the next England match ? If he hasn't gone by then all those beauts will deffo be telling him to move.

We didnt NEED to sell arteta either, we still did at 10 to 11 and made the money dissapear.

Point is, im not turning my nose up at anyone. It is the general reaction that us losing stones to chelsea is the same as city losing someone to them. Stones would be stepping up in his career, and why would anyone think he wouldnt want to do that? Just because he is our player.

...... and why can't he step up his career here at Everton ? is the point i was making.

not leaning on selling him. I am leaning on a valuation on him. If it is met then sell him, if not then that is the minimum we sell for now or in the future, subject to value going up on our end.

because we are nowhere near champions league or challenging for the title. That is stepping up your career. Hell even competing in europe is stepping up and we have gone backwards in that respect in 12 months.

In fact we have been nowhere near those levels since the bloody 80's!

Next time you watch Sakho play and he gets the ball, imagine all the players around him shouting "RIGHT LADS, LET'S GET HIM!", because without fail they'll charge him down and he looks utterly baffled at what to do and goes into his Bambi routine.

He's one of the very worst Liverpool centre-halves I've ever seen!
