We didnt NEED to sell arteta either, we still did at 10 to 11 and made the money dissapear.
Point is, im not turning my nose up at anyone. It is the general reaction that us losing stones to chelsea is the same as city losing someone to them. Stones would be stepping up in his career, and why would anyone think he wouldnt want to do that? Just because he is our player.
If I were him, I wouldn't go. You'd make money in the short term, but I'd have confidence in my own ability and know how my development has rocketed since joining the club, and wouldn't risk Francis Jeffers-ing my whole career by moving down south, barely getting a game and ending up playing in Australia within a few years.
I'd definitely stay at Everton for at least another season, and that's not the blue-tinted specs on there either. My logic would be I'd earn the money lost on that year of staying in a future contract, as I'd have one more year of regular football under my belt, and I'd be going into Euro 2016 in a settle environment to impress there.
