John Stones transfer saga

Wait so everyone's fuming about kenwright saying stones is the best CB in England while saying we shouldn't sell for any price?
Yes mate. Bill has ""...a great relationship with the people at Chelsea" don't you know. He's not to be trusted and we're fuming

I hope we turn down all bids. This time next year, there will be a bidding war, in which case I'd rather we accepted a couple of million less than anything Chelsea offer from Utd or City, just to annoy that egotistical tit Mourinho. The way Chelsea are conducting themselves is disgraceful but indicative of the modern era.

So should he say stones is average or crap? I just don't see what the issue is. Also wasn't the interview before the arsenal game? Before the bid even happened?

He shouldn't say anything in public that fella. Like I said earlier I wouldn't have him organising a piss up in a brewery

"we want to keep 'most' of our players and he is one of the best defenders in england " thats reads to me " we will sell some of our players at the right price and the right price for stones is a high price"

he could have said " stones isnt for sale , we have him on a long term contract and we will be keeping him while he has that contract. our best players are not for sale becouse we want to build a team that will bring success"

he could of that , he should of that , he didnt say that.

he didn't though did he ?
he didnt say "stones isnt for sale"

My take on it is that Martinez was asked through the club by Mourinho to sell Stones to Chelsea.

Martinez said no, the club backed it up with a letter.

The wording of the letter gave Mourinho encouragement to carry on and bid again and say so to the press, ie his rant when he said 'they should just say no, but they didnt'.

Whoever wrote that letter must be told in no uncertain terms that they didnt do a very good job with the letter to say the least.

The fallout has made our manager look like a Richard Head.
