John Stones transfer saga

The deference in Delph his contract was nearing the end so he had the option to leave - Stones in our terms is tied for 4 and 1/2 years!
We if he asks to go slap 60 million on him end of story Chelski would never pay that!

Delp had signed a new contract I think in January2015 The option to leave was down to the fact that AV agreed to a very low release clause in that new contract

If Chelsea want Stones bad enough, they'll get him.
The most we can do is make them pay so much for him that it'll remain the transfer record for another 50 years.
I won't be disappointed with Stones when he goes (no one can hold it against him), just the board if they accept a pitiful offer.

It's the way of the game now and probably always will be.
Small clubs like Chelsea will sadly remain artificially inflated with cash until their owner decides he wants a new pet project.

*Disclaimer - I'm super salty.

Chelsea are borderline bringing the game into disrepute. But, they have achieved what they wanted.
They have made it clear they want to sign John Stones but they know that it is up to John Stones to make it happen.

We, the supporters , have no idea what is happening in the background and that is where the most danger lies.
We do not know if John Stones wants to leave and has privately asked the club to be allowed to leave. We do not know if Everton and Chelsea are haggling quietly over the terms of a deal.

At this stage , it would be great again to hear from RM repeating more or less what he said at the weekend.
It would mean that the situation has not changed and the players head has not been turned .

Chelsea has decided that theyll deal with the player..not with the club. It's a utter disgrace.

If the fa think that he's gonna end up on Chelsea's bench then they'd rather him be in our first team with the Euros next summer. Theyll have told them to wind it in for the sake of the EMNT.

12 months ago, and of course you know the price too ? Yeah right, I hear of these 'done' deals every transfer window. Hmm if memory serves me right I thought it was Barkley that was the rumoured makeweight in the Lukaku deal ?

Changys winding things up as usual ...most worthless contributions to real debate in the history of football forums( apart from a few!)

As my name suggests, I'm here in peace.

Been reading this thread on and off since with we first linked, although many fans have been linking us with John Stones for a while now. Replacing John Terry is one of the 3 most important jobs facing this club at the moment and despite a huge investment, there ain't one coming through the ranks so we have to look outside. 18 months ago it was Varane, but there's little chance of him leaving Madrid so Stones became the main target and with good reason. His quality is plain to see and the potential is huge.

Now I've seen some criticism of the way we've handled this but I'm not sure that we've done anything out of the ordinary. We made a bid, it was rebuffed and we're readying another. Cahill's comments are nothing in my opinion and Mourinho gave an honest answer to a question.

On the other hand, Martinez came out at the start of May and admitted it was a possibility that some of the young stars could leave when he said
‘I don’t want to sell the dream, “Oh, we need to keep these players”, because that’s not modern football,
so it's hard to be surprised when a bigger team (and I know that term offends some but I'm trying to be realistic here) comes in for one. Why not say they were definitely staying? If it's just more money that's required then why not say that?

And it's not like other teams don't employ similar tactics. You yourselves were charged with tapping up Lascelles at Nottingham Forest weren't you? I'm not saying we're whiter than white in this because I don't think any team is nowadays. It's just modern football.

Anyway, I wish you all the best for the coming season and I really do hope we get John Stones because this kid has talent and I honestly think he'd learn so much playing next to John Terry and under Jose Mourinho.

Welcome, I expect you know what sort of response this post will create.

We've given you the courtesy of being able to have your say which is condescending to say the least but I do not think you will contribute anything more useful to a non-debate.

Stones is not for sale, thanks for visiting the site.

  1. Not too bothered about Mourinho's comments
  2. I'm bothered about Cahill's because it's a bit disrespectful to us to plea for Stones to join Chelsea, plus it puts pressure on Stones
  3. We can't say he's not for sale because for the right price every player in world football is for sale

John Stones is in a very strong position . Moving to Chelsea is not a career defining moment for him. He is already probably the most highly regarded young defender in the premiership. He is still learning his trade and is playing alongside a current England international.

From a career point of view, he is probably better off staying with Everton for another season at the very least or even more.
If he develops to his potential, then the really big European clubs will want him..Utd, Barca, Madrid, Bayern.

Chelsea for all their questionable roubles are not one the big European teams in terms of stature or history. An irony considering Mourinhos rant.
about small clubs.
There is also the probability that Mourinho and Chelsea will fall out of love over the next few seasons as he has done at every club and we saw that when Mourinho left last time Chelsea struggled.
So, if Stones leaves Everton ,is he joining Mourinho or Chelsea.

You are only bigger in the sense that you have a chairman who throws silly money at it to give you a massive advantage in a day when TV lap it up and football is a ridiculous 24 x 7 over dramatised soap opera, nothing to be proud of, unless you are a complete melt of course who gets off on this kind of thing.

In no other way, shape or form are Chelsea bigger than Everton.

Hope that clears that up for you.

That is all that I have to say on the matter ;)
