John Stones transfer saga

I've been scrolling back through this thread trying to find out what we think Mourinho did wrong and why we hate him for it.
Is it because of the insulting 20 million bid? Did he leak it through the press and tv and not come directly to the club?
Or was it something else?
Reason I'm curious is because I'm not seeing anything new about any of that. Isn't that the way it's usually done?
I remember when the first you knew about transfers was when you read it on the back page of the paper in the morning, but that was
a very long time ago.

It had nothing to do with the bid, the transfer window is open and Chelsea are entitled to try to sign any player, as is every club.
A bid of 20m is hardly insignificant and certainly not insulting, but in the market that exists today it is not even close to being the selling price for John Stones. However, every club bids low and expects to be dragged up to an agreed price.

The problems have been as follows :

Making the bid public, ensuring media hype and thereby putting pressure on Everton to sell and putting pressure on the player to ask for a move.
Secondly, using the media and his own players as pawns in highlighting to John Stones all the benefits of moving to Chelsea.
Lastly, being insulting and condescending towards Everton , by calling it a small club and insinuating that it was being small minded by refusing to sell the player, for the good of the player, the good of English football and of course the good of Chelsea.

It was a classic case ofattempted bullying and the hierarchy at Chelsea have recognised it as such and seem to have imposed a media blackout on the matter.
I wonder what was said at Chelsea. Is this the very first step in the falling out of love between manager and club. It has happened everywhere he has gone and will happen again.

please don't get around the swear filter
C***sucker Blues. On another note, haven't Chelski a couple of young defenders out on loan? Moronho's public pursuit of Stones is a kick in the guts for them. His capacity to deal with young emerging talent should sound alarm bells. After the Rom saga we can see Chelski as a development club for ourselves.
