John Stones transfer saga

There really should be some law about contracts to protect clubs cause it has to work both ways. For instance if you sign a five year deal as a player another club should not be permitted to speak about you tap you up a few months after this. Or else what's the point in contracts for x amount of years ffs. May as well just have season to season contracts.

You would prefer if Stones was a free agent? I prefer the 40m+. You don't buy a player, you buy the right to break his contract.

At least we'll have Arouna Kone upfront

Sharpey told me in Rubber Soul that Kone is our new centre half mate.

He told me absolutely nothing else whatsoever, but he must have had to just get it off his chest. I can see why, must be tearing him up inside.

I think they have a rule which does forbid tapping up another club's contracted player.

But as with most of football's rules, it ain't worth the paper it's written on.

I'm assuming the ITK is referring to Sharp aswell

Honestly I doubt the club tell Sharp stuff like that. He doesn't deal with the players so he has no need to know about transfer dealings, especially when the clubs are that far apart in their valuation (Chelsea about to bid £26m while we're holding out for £35m plus add ons).

No. The contract which has four and a half years to run should offer the club protection against public unsolicited approaches or else what's the point in lengthy contracts. Ya wide?

Just went on the Shed End to look at their discussion. There has been several Everton fans logging on to discuss the transfer and as these things usually do there has been a little bit of a pushback to some of them. Which prompted one poster to ask

barak81, Any one else re-thinking who's they'd like to get tonked in the mersyside derby

Prompting the reply
Xfaxtor - Because of three posters not wanting their club to sell a playee to us? Its gonna take a lot more then that. Martinez could be outed as a secret general in the ISIS and I would still root for him to beat Liverpool.

Who told you we're holding on for 35m? He is NOT for sale. Me and @Pat Van are the new club Sporting Directors. Some players are just not for Sale. Period.
