John Stones transfer saga

Honestly I doubt the club tell Sharp stuff like that. He doesn't deal with the players so he has no need to know about transfer dealings, especially when the clubs are that far apart in their valuation (Chelsea about to bid £26m while we're holding out for £35m plus add ons).

Who says were holding out for anything? It's pure, wild speculation. We know one thing, they put in an offer of £20m, we said no. The whole valuation thing, or that Everton value him at £Xm is complete codswhallop created by the media in order to create a clamour for evertioians to almost will Chelsea to meet it, and even give some a feeling of achievement at getting it. The only achievement here will be to keep hold of stones, keep him as a pivotal character in the squad for a long time to come and see him lift a trophy above his head with a wider smile than Dave Watson.

The BBC saying 'expected to move to Chelsea'. Ridiculous. And insulting, quite frankly. You try not to get wound up out these things but it's as though every media outlet has just totally bypassed reason and are getting all hyped up. Nothing concrete other than they've had one bid rejected. The club really should come out and say he's not for sale, end of. I can understand why we aren't, but it's beyond the pale now.

Just went on the Shed End to look at their discussion. There has been several Everton fans logging on to discuss the transfer and as these things usually do there has been a little bit of a pushback to some of them. Which prompted one poster to ask

barak81, Any one else re-thinking who's they'd like to get tonked in the mersyside derby

Xfaxtor - Because of three posters not wanting their club to sell a playee to us? Its gonna take a lot more then that. Martinez could be outed as a secret general in the ISIS and I would still root for him to beat Liverpool.

:p

Wow, I think some of those Chelsea fans were
Ha, I just lurk on other forums mate - I spend way too much time on this one to want to get drawn into arguments on another one!!!

Couldn't do that, some of the guff from those Chelsea fans was awful.

It's amazing how many clueless people want an opinion on it in the media, just to get their oar in on a topical subject.

Haven't a clue any of them. They genuinely think around £25m is a fair offer for Stones.
I know .......... but..... Lennon at 15 million the cheeky GIT............... having said that he has probably not had more than 25 mill to build a squad lol

Yet some seemed reasonable and funny - most teams forums are a balance of the sane and the insane with even the former posters verging into the latter when they feel they are being insulted in their own "home".

We probably sound arrogant and condescending at times when discussing other teams players as well.
