talking to you mkes me think i am going mad mate lol

Evans isnt the replacement to stones....he is back up to the first choice defenders, which will probably be van dijk and jags looking at the way things are going.
Evans for me would be a bad signing -ok sorry if I make you mad by the way did you get my hot tip in the anything else thread over your damp problem as I left you a good cheap option , and have you sorted it off topic I know, but I am not a Johnny Evans fan!

Get on the sense of entitlement here!

@SpectreCFC: @SkyFootball Everton robbing Stones of a career. Martinez is cancerous to his growth.

That second bid pretty much confirms that Chelsea are just trying to get Stones to push for the move in order to keep the transfer fee down.
To me the offers are that low its as if they think in the end its a straight swap with the Lukarku money last year to suit them well they can get stuffed!

While I recognize Stones's potential is huge, I'm coming to think he is a luxury we can't afford. If we can a decent defender for 10-12 million and have 10-15 change from the sale (after we pay off Barnsley), I'd say we sell him and use these funds towards getting some kind of striker and a playmaker. (I realize that this will cost a lot more than 10-15 but I have a feeling our funds are severely tight without that bolster) Our real problem is with goals and an attacking threat in the final third. I think you can play our system with a limited defender (just get it to the DM as quick as possible), but we just don't have enough goalscorers in the squad. The issue is how long Chelsea is going to take to reach our price point. They are currently being very parsimonious in their offers. It's a real drip drip situation.

If he goes we will get a good deal with add ons etc. The problem then lies with how the money is spent on top of any other kitty we have already. Martinez has bought lukaku McCarthy Besic and deulofeu for under 50 mill. If the decision lies with Bobby then whatever kitty he has now will probably dictate if he goes or stays.

June 2004:

Wayne Rooney has emerged as one of the stars of Euro 2004 and speculation linking the 18-year-old with a move to Manchester United or Chelsea has been rife in recent days.

However, Everton chairman Bill Kenwright says he will turn down any offers for Rooney. “David Moyes and I agreed Wayne has to be a £50million player now,” said Kenwright. “I would turn down any bid for him and say: ‘Thank you very much. What else do you want to talk about?'” “We do smile about what Wayne is worth but, then again, we also talk about who’s going to be alongside him with us next season.
“We know what Wayne’s value is and our price is that he is an Everton player and we have no reason to believe that will change.

If, and I'm hoping it is a massive, massive if, Everton do reluctantly (?) acquiesce to the sale of John Stones, in my opinion, it has to be for a record fee, no poncing around with anything less than £40 million and ideally, a lot, lot more.

I sincerely hope he is not sold this window or season, if at all but, if he does go, it has to be entirely to the financial benefit of Everton.

Everton no longer have a manager whose sole ambition is to lick the Utd manager's arse for a future job?
