John Stones transfer saga

to unsettle of course so that Stones puts in a request

Yeah I get that, but no, not happening.

I'd love us to just out of principle come out and say John Stones is simply not going to Chelsea barring a £50m bid. Cards on the table really - for each stupid bid, add £5m on the actual price.

He's under contract for four years and he's a centre half - if in the unlikely scenario that he kicks off, put him in the reserves for a year and screw him out of Euro 2016. The clubs' dignity is worth more than £30m.

Our defence has being fragile the whole of last season so losing him will be expensive.

Therefore if he must go ABSOLUTELY SMASH Chelsea with a ridiculous figure.

We deserve it as we keep pumping out these juniors only to lose them to such clubs.

Compensation please. Not just a transfer payment but compensation is also required for this service of feeding the league our stars.

STUFF THEM!

Liverpool with Sterling just said the price is £50m so don't mess about despite whatever the player says in the press. They got £49m which was clearly just to save a bit of face at the City end

Everton saying that Stones is not for sale allows Chelsea to mess about with lower amounts whilst getting Stones to internally indicate that he wants out. If he's definitely going, then the club need to publicise what they want and call Chelsea out in the press. Pretending he's not for sale is not helping

Liverpool had no choice, Sterling had been worse than useless for them in the second half of last season and would have moped his way through this one. They also needed the money after agreeing deals for Firmino and wanting to get Benteke in. We don't need the money and Stones will be a key player for us next season. We need to keep hold.

How can stones leave now it's not long before the season starts. who will play CB tony hibbert we cannot afford to let stones go in this window are defence will more of a shambles than it was last year.

city are absolute morons with dealings though. chelsea were the same about 5 or so years back - especially when you look at the torres saga. i think they're a bit more cute with their dealings these days. they're not throwing £40m out willy nilly as if it's loose change - not with mourinho.

A lot of Mourinho's recent statements have basically been attempts to get his bosses to pay for Stones no matter the price. All this bullshit about Arsenal spending more, trying to pretend that United have money to throw around but he doesn't - it's basically trying to get Chelsea fans to start whinging about how much cash he has to spend. Abramovich will cave if Everton publicise and hold to a set price

To be fair, the media said 20 million bid-done
The media said 26 million bid in next 48 hours-done
Alot of 'sources 'say we will accept 34 million.
Lets see what happens?

The money is needed. Go back to the threads of last season and note how many people were calling for an overhaul of the squad - selling is the only way it will happen

has it not been suggested that we think the offers are utterly frivolous and believe they only deserve a rejection?

i know there's all those rumours about bill being ill, i don't think i've seen him do an Interview for a long while - it's not martinez' club he doesn't really have the right to say "he's not for sale" - he'd get vilified for saying it and then we do sell him.

everton saying he not for sale..then eventually selling him is embarrassing to the club

If we do. If we sell him it best be for a big record fee and Martinez needs to have a replacement and get all the funds from the sale.

But selling him now with the season a week away is nothing short of stupid.

Everton aye.
