John Stones transfer saga

It's over now imo, the board would do too much damage to their credibility of they now sold him, they could have easily just rejected the bid and not said anything.

Unless Stones throws a transfer request in he won't be going anywhere imo

Southampton will reject any bids from Manchester United for Luke Shaw and insist the left-back is not for sale.

David Moyes was reported to be switching his attention to Shaw after seeing two offers for Leighton Baines rejected by his former club Everton.

Everton boss David Moyes has reiterated Manchester City target Joleon Lescott is not for sale.

Lescott has been strongly linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer with cash-rich City thought to be lining up a bid for the England international.

Speaking to shareholders at a fans' forum Moyes insists no one at Everton is for sale.

It's all tosh.

I'm sure there'll be back channels encouraging him to do exactly that when Chelsea reach the magic bid figure.

It's familiar territory. I have no doubt whatsoever this is a deal that eventually goes through. My concern is that it's dragged out so far these nobheads not only pocket the tv revenue cash but also take as much of Stones' fee as they can too.

We are governed by carpet baggers.

Even if all they were concerned with was money, our board would be foolish to sell him now. He could be worth double in 2 years time.

It entirely depends on the player.
Not entirely, players have been kept against their wishes for a year if they have a long contract, but it will play a huge part in it.

Naismith saying that Everton is the best place for him at the moment will count for quite a bit I think - he and Stones seem close. Getting guaranteed playing time ahead of the Euros will probably be the biggest incentive.
