EVERTON 'NOT SELLING STONES'

Some further developments concerning John Stones, with a top Everton official telling us this evening that they have "no intention" of selling the defender.

Sky sources understand the Toffees rejected a second bid from Chelsea this afternoon and the Premier League champions have apparently been told twice that the player is not for sale and is staying with Everton.

It's all nonsense.

No club will ever come out in this situation and say "Well.... we might sell him if they chuck a few quid extra in".

If Chelsea offer the right amount then Stones will be off.

Listening to that interview with Moyes and Hunter, It seems clear that Kenwright wouldn't sell any player that the manager wanted to keep. I'd say that's still the case and players only go if they want to leave, Rooney, Artetta, Lescott, Felli etc. If Martinez can convince Stones that first team football at Everton is the best thing for him at the moment, and I'd say he can, then I think/hope Stones might be staying put.

'No intention'. Lol.

Fast forward 10 days when Kenwright has a £30M cheque in his arse pocket: "The lad simply wanted to move on. It was Wayne all over again. We had no intention of selling him. We were all sobbing and shaking in the boardroom."

Martinez then gets circa £20M and we hurtle toward Transfer Deadline Day looking to get four players in - two with cash, two as loans deals.

We all KNOW it.

'Fabric', 'DNA', 'Born' etc etc....

I tell you what, if the board can hold off Chelsea and hang on to Stones, I'll have a little bit of new found respect for them.
And vice versa I'll lose any ounce of faith if they do after insisting this.
