John Stones transfer saga

Says the man who admitted he does not know anything.

I'm not posting anything on here on this subject other than to say we've virtually made all the immediate payments for lukaku.

Only performance related add ons remain to be paid. (appearances etc)

As far as I'm aware this isn't true.

So....can I now safely regard this business as having been put to bed and start to savour the upcoming football season, which is now no more than ten days away :)

Chelsea have played this bad.

If they really really wanted him they should have just bid something utterly mental for him. It's not like they're hard up for cash and they no we wouldn't turn down something really daft.

By bidding these low amounts they've pretty much lost any chance they ever had of getting him.
Just about sums up the whole debacle , close thread nothing to see here.

Does this count?

(assuming you are a bloke), you've got gynecomastia

So the un-named official will contact SSN, but they wont stick anything official on the website? Seriously? Why contact SSN to tell them what theyre already reporting, aswell as Martinez has already said and what the press are reporting?

You're making the assumption that Everton contacted SSN.
It's much more likely to have been the other way round and why on earth should the club make a statement on the OS ?

Chelsea have played this badly but we've played this pretty well. Made them look like bullies and forced them to resort to underhand tactics like leaking and low balling us. We stand firm and then to top it off do quaint things like sending them letters of refusal.

I meant in general rather than Everton.

Perhaps we are different and will always let a player go even if we don't get a decent fee but we certainly seemed prepared to in the Fellaini/Lescott cases.

It's a poker game. A club can seem prepared to let a player rot in the reserves all they want, but in the end they usually don't, because they get a fee they deem worth more than a player that they can't use. Neither of Jagielka or Baines kicked up enough of a fuss, so they weren't sold; Lescott and Fellaini did, so they were. More often than not it's up to a player to force a move in this kind of situation, but that doesn't mean you have to sell low if they do.
